Writing a mute character that relies on all this has really improved my ability to write body language and get a lot more across without having them say anything directly. It's a fun challenge at times :D

Beyond obvious facial expressions; their tail wags when they're happy, curls around their legs when they're sad, flattens against their legs when scared, etc. Their ears are equally expressive, and their sign is too. It becomes sharper if they're mad, smaller if they're uncertain, etc. >

Very physically expressive, with a fair bit of auditory expression mixed in. Xaia is mute to the point that the most complicated sounds they can make are the whistles and chirps of Huntspeak. They also purr and squeak. But most of their expression comes from physical motions. > #XaiaLore

A friend! Xaia loves all creatures, especially creepy crawlies. They're used to handling all manners of insects, frogs, snakes, birds... A cockroach is one of the more tame things they've dealt with. #XaiaLore

Yes! I run with a little group that does RP nights several times a week. It's the highlight of my day and they're all wonderful people. Most of the lore I have for Xaia is stuff I came up with simply because another character asked them a question.

I've had to answer this a lot in my RP group C'xaiake Kuna - Kah-shy-ah-kay Coo-nah Although since moving to Eorzea, they've grown oddly fond of the mispronunciation of Xaiake (Sigh-ah-kay). They don't correct people anymore. #XaiaLore

I've always found myself making most of my OCs decent at drawing, being an artist myself. Xaia specifically is also really good at ice skating, which I enjoy doing. I wish I could cook half as good as my OCs though- >.>

3) I'll stop IC conflict when it stops being fun for everyone involved, and I'll still interact with someone I don't like OOC if everyone else seems cool with them. Sometimes, I'm just slower to warm to the person than everyone else- my bitchy rabbit gets it from somewhere after all

My group and I are pretty firm with the "IC ≠ OOC" 1) Conflict between characters is fine, one of mine (Zehlvi) is known for being a bitch that hates 90% of people. But I'm very clear that him hating someone does not mean I hate anyone OOC 2) If we don't like someone OOC, we just don't interact. >

The pendant is currently in the possession of Xaia's partner, and without it, the remainder of their aether begins to just... Slowly drift apart. They need to be around it often to stay healthy. It's a huge show of trust that Xaia lets their partner hold onto it.

Ooo this is a fun one. Xaia's soul is weird, it's hollow. It would appear to be a white, crackling flame with a dark spot in the middle where the core is empty. As a kitsune, the core of Xaia's soul is in a gem (these are usually called star balls) that's in a pendant. > #XaiaLore

Zehlvi works for Aetris. Xaia and Zehlvi have met in passing. Xaia and Vetu get along pretty well. Zehlvi HATES Vetu with a passion. And none of them have met Rikai yet! The downside of RPing in game, I can't play two of them at once so it's all in my brain and fics.

The other two main RP ones are Xaia, who I write about plenty here, and Vetu, a Meracydian Viera. He's a loveable dumbass and a rogue. Finally we have Rikai, who's my next closest to a WoL: a Garlean with the artificial Echo. I don't use him much though.

Since I'm pretty heavy on RPing, I have multiple OCs I jump between depending on what I'm feeling. Aetris is my male Au Ra and main content character. ICly he's a WoL that's retiring soon. Zehlvi is my grumpy healer and reaper OC, and one of my main three to RP.

Xaia doesn't know what their birth parents look like, but they don't look much like their adopted parents or siblings. It's been hilarious lately with them introducing people to their "twin" brother who's a Miqo'te, while they're a Viera. But no one wants to point out the issue. #XaiaLore

How to filter out AI Images in Google Image Search. Sharing this with my students so I figured I'd also share it with everyone here. Hopefully this image is still relevant given Google's changes. Save this on your computer or phone and refer to it as needed.

HOW TO FILTER OUT AI IMAGES IN GOOGLE IMAGES

When you type something add the following minus keywords: -ai, -prompt

Since AI movement increased highly in 2022, use "before:" like before:2021 (VERY effective)

The following keywords will affect and should decrease amounts of AI imagery appearing on your search.

One of my other characters in the same group has completed his large arc, which was a ton of fun. Reminded me of running DnD campaigns. Another is just starting his, so Xaia's will be on the bench for a while, and that's okay! I'm enjoying their slower pace compared to the other two.

Xaia's newest mini-arc is heading out to Tural and studying there to expand their alchemy. Their larger arc will eventually involve how their auspice abilities develop, how they came to be, etc, but rn it's just an idea in my head. I'm in no rush to start it. >

Yes! I write with an RP group (there's a good 15 or so of us) that follows along with the MSQ but doesn't directly involve it. The Scions and the WoL are a whole other thing we don't touch. Xaia has already had a mini-arc for joining this group, and helped another character with his. > #XaiaLore

Physical touch over everything else. Words are hard. Both Xaia and I would prefer to greet friends by hugging or giving them a lovely cat-style head bunt rather than talk. We'll both also murder if spoken to in the morning pre-drink (coffee for me, tea for Xaia). #XaiaLore

*Taps the kitsune folklore* This. As a strange Spoken/kitsune mix, Xaia gets thrown in with some of the stories sometimes. And they're trying so, so hard to prove they're not that. But it's a very tough uphill struggle when they don't know anyone else like them. #XaiaLore
