Here's an offer you can't refuse. @mattkendrick.bsky.social invites you to read some of his 2025 #FlashFiction favourites - and why he likes them, with his usual insight. Delighted to have a bonus mention on such a stellar list. I'll be settling down with a mince pie for a browse soon as I can.

As someone who mostly reads horror, I'll never understand the vitriol towards "cozy" books. People say they are escapist, unserious, allowing readers to avoid big issues. And I'm like, girl, WHEN did your dark romance book fix society? Did I BLINK and miss your detective thriller solving crime?

We had a great #BitesizedBookClub last night, discussing four fab stories by @kazbarwrites.bsky.social - check them out on the archive: theleadedwindow.blogspot.com/p/bite-sized... (All available online, but also in her collection 'Cold Toast', which you should definitely buy from Dahlia Books! 😊)

Hi Bluesky! My name is Avery and I'm a Flash fiction writer in Lancashire. A lover of horror/thriller and fantasy in all forms. With my degree finally finished, I thought I would start putting my work out there and put up with the terrifying ordeal of being known!
