Izium was occupied for 6 months. It took 3 years to identify 449 victims. 23 were Ukrainian soldiers. The rest were civilians whose only “crime” was living on Ukrainian land. That’s what occupation actually means. This is what russia calls “liberation.” This is why Ukraine cannot give up land.

Being a Ukrainian and watching how US is trying to sell out Ukraine to Russia for a better price while Ukraine reps continue to say thank you for this charade - so Trump doesn’t throw another tantrum - feels physically exhausting and honestly sad. Also, scared for the future.
