That's what I'm hoping! A nice warm snack can do so much in cold weather. And it's Vortex 😅 there are only so many events here to play at. It's fun, though I don't play at others bc it takes up quite some time so don't have a comparison.

That does help! I'm now also thinking more about hard bakes like crackers. And pestos, tapas is a nice direction! It will be cold this event so I'll try heating the mexican bean dish this time, but for next event I'll consider your suggestions! And yeah, it's in character, mostly! it's a lot of fun!

Those were the best. I loved Robots in Disguise's sequences, with the theme songs and everything, you knew they were kicking off the cool things, especially combiner sequences.

It's 'finish tiny greebles' time, but the D-Rings (inverse assembly on purpose, that 3L rivet isn't going anywhere) are on, so the harness is 99% complete. Just have to tie down the flaps now that they no longer take part in the functional work.

The larp faction has a potluck lunch tradition. It usually 'devolves' to cookies, nuts, dry sausages- everything that doesn't need a fridge. Tried once, bc I had a coolbox, to table homemade bulgur. Glorious, but only a few ate. This time: <2€ mexican bean mealbags in MRE bain marie with bread.

It's pretty snazzy, right? Best thing is that the D-rings will carry an ornamental cape with a low back drape, so that bit remains visible. Functional, but also decorative hardware.

Then, cape. The covers are on, it's hemmed 3/4, flipped, so base work is maybe topstitch, pleat top points, attach the hook clasps, hem the 1. Do greeble work (check covers, make the wool more frosty less fluffy) Finally, beadwork, if I have time...

The pauldrons need arming points mirrors. OfcI don't half-ass it. Thinking a tab /w 3 rivets on the top plate band, loop /w cord ring facing inwards to which the AP will be tied. Keeps it hidden, flush, the three rivets on the top will look prettiest, I think. Then, assemble arm straps.

There was a flaw in the design. Spend last night on new belts, including super flush triangular straps. Proud of that. Arming points are there as well. To do: D-Rings new placement (measure, drill, rivet) Pauldron arm straps (m, d, r) Pauldron AP placement (m, d, r) Continued cape work

T-T I ordered materials 4 weeks ago!! Friggin' knocking out a full top harness, 2x4 plate pauldron, and a cape with almost 30 icicles and tufts within 4 weeks. Amidst work, illness, childcare and all (Husbands gets a bottle of Scotch tho, he helped a lot with caring duties) Outrageous, this.

It's unforgiving and expensive! So it's a lot of time spend on watching videos on techniques before trying them out 😅 That harness looks so well worn! Love the colour it got over time, that *is* the beauty of leather, isn't it? It lives. Love the patterns on it too, is it a raider-style armor?
