Not much has changed since I posted this, hence why I've been quiet. I've found that I've been just 'killing time' outside of the few days I've been doing some voluntary admin work, without any real direction or sense of accomplishment. It's not a great feeling, not going to lie.

Yeah, I didn't have a holiday outside the UK until 2010, when I was already 24. Growing up, my family wasn't really in a place to go abroad. My siblings and I are lucky that we've been able to make some trips happen in our adult lives.

If you want a nice indie game to check out, I recommend Wax Heads. It's set in a small music record shop, where you have to find what customers describe to you. It has a really cool cartoon art style, a great soundtrack, and it very much champions human-made content! Definitely worth a play. 🤘

I'll get back to posting physical games, eventually. It's just been a bit slow with purchases lately, so I don't have much to share. I also think I'd find it a bit more fun (and possibly cheaper) if I waited until a future Japan trip to grab certain games.

I commissioned another drawing from @redthemarten.bsky.social, and this time I went for something Pride-themed featuring Stacey, as well as Mies (Red's character). I could imagine those two getting up to all kinds of mischief around town... 😈 Once again, I'm very happy with how it turned out!

For our treasure map session yesterday, the costume theme was 'Pride'. Here's a group shot I liked from taking some photos after. I thought it was perfect for the theme! (credit to Nil for that idea)

I played through a good chunk of Tales of Eternia on the PSP, but never finished it. I remember enjoying it, though. It's been AGES, so maybe I'll end up playing the Remaster whenever I decide to reattempt it.

Being the warrior of light (AND a rock star...AAAND a photo model) has its perks...especially if you like cookies... :3 🍪 Been a good while since I've drawn Arcania (over two years, in fact), and I feel like this is my best drawing of her yet.

Both Wolverine and the new God of War look great. Sadly, it's very hard for me to get excited about games I may not get to play for a while...if ever. 🥲 I fully expect Sony to go back on their PC stance EVENTUALLY, but whether they'll do it while the games are still relevant is another thing.

On a more serious note, I really don't like the ways have been going in the UK in terms of rights for the trans community. I don't think it represents the majority of people, but it's a bit hard not to be disheartened by rights being stripped. I just hope things turn around, at some point. 🤞🏳️‍⚧️

After enjoying @meganmcduffee.bandcamp.com's awesome soundtrack for a while now, I finally got around to playing and finishing River City Girls. Nice little retro-style beat-em-up. Challenging in parts, but not frustratingly so. I'll have to get around to the sequel, at some point!

Just finished Mixtape ( @mixtapegame.bsky.social). Such a great narrative experience. I love the animation style, and the soundtrack is well-curated! Plenty of great moments, too. I recommend putting aside around three hours and checking out yourself. 💯

I played it for the first time when I picked a physical copy to play on my Japanese PS2 (about a year and a half ago now). While I need to put more time into it, it's easily one of the best games I have in my collection. Love the style, and like you say, a must for shoot-em-up fans!

I felt like doing a quick Cynthia drawing. She's her usual cheery self, as you can see. 😛

Llandudno is claimed to have a connection to Lewis Carroll, so there's an 'Alice Trail' with various statues of characters from Wonderland. I'll have to go back to do the rest at some point (I had a mini crisis which distracted me from doing more - don't worry, it was resolved!), but not sure when.

I went for a little trip to Llandudno today, just for something different. I had a good time exploring shops and taking some pictures. I've been there before (including some family visits when I was younger), but it's still very scenic!

Just finished Pragmata. Easily one of the best fresh IPs I've played for a while. I loved how it played, and the father/daughter-like relationship between Hugh and Diana was sweet. If you're looking for something new, it might be worth a shot!

I asked my friend @redthemarten.bsky.social for a commission of my FF14 warrior of light, Arcania, rocking out on stage. I love how it turned out! 👌 It was designed to be printed out on A3, so I ordered a poster...and this is how it looks!

Cineworld does them, too. I've noticed when I go to book a screening, sometimes (along with 'audio description' showings, which they provide via a headset). It's great when cinemas provide screenings like that. 👌

This week, I've gone with a Japan-only Vita title; Time Travelers. It's a visual novel with, you've guessed it, some time travel. I bought it during my 2014 trip, with the intention of learning to read Japanese...something that never transpired. 😅 There is an English patch...but only for 3DS. 🥲

Aside from Shadow Hearts and Shadow of Memories (which I've mentioned previously), I enjoyed Wild Arms 3 a lot. It's the only entry I've played in the series, but it was good one. I remember liking the battle system, along with the interesting story.

Seeing as a new entry came out yesterday, the game I've picked out this week is...Resident Evil Zero for the GameCube! Starting on a train, Zero is set shortly before the infamous events at the Spencer Mansion, and you can switch between two characters; Rebecca Chambers (💙) and Billy Coen.
