I think the people who think cats are mean for the sake of being mean don't frame it correctly You gotta look at is as if they're all toddlers and sometimes they just throw tantrums My cat was a feral kitten found in a field, and he hits me with the cat equivalent of grasshopper kid daily 😂

Been thinking a lot about this line in Loki season 2 in regards to how America could possibly recover from where we’re at: “Sure. Burn it down. Easy. Annihilating is easy. Razing things to the ground is easy. Trying to fix what’s broken is hard. Hope is hard.”

In Generation III Pokemon games, the Nest Ball is equivalent to a regular Poke Ball and offers no extra catch chance if the Pokemon you're catching is level 30+ Colosseum has 2 Shadow Pokemon that are level 20, every single other one is 30+, yet the Nest Ball is one of 7 ball options in the game 😂

If there is one thing from Ascension I desperately need Blizzard to steal for retail it's being able to eventually have every profession unlocked on a single character if you invest hard enough into them I should not need 6 characters to cover every profession, it's archaic

Tooltip for the Craftsman's Codex item in Project Ascension's Conquest of Azeroth private WoW server

Use: Unlocks a new primary profession slot. You can unlock all primary professions.

In today's episode of "Hi I'm DVS, I break games on accident sometimes", I ran a Timewalking Ulduar raid with some buds last night in World of Warcraft on my Survival Hunter, and dropped a healer-exclusive Fragment of Val'anyr? Hunters do not have a heal spec and can't drop these???

Tooltip text in World of Warcraft, reads the following:

Fragment of Val'anyr (Legendary Orange coloring)
Soulbound
Unique (30)
Use: Combines 30 Fragments of Val'anyr to form the Shattered Fragments of Val'anyr.
Classes: Paladin, Priest, Shaman, Monk, Druid, Evoker (Red text, because my current class, Hunter, is not a class that can drop/use these)
"The fragments of this ancient hammer glow with a cool, soothing light."

Inventory --- Total: 5
Durge (White text for Priest) --- Bags: 3
Dormo (Off green text for Hunter) --- Bags: 1
Toofwess (Darker green-blue for Evoker) --- Bags: 1

..and be able to experience the chain of transfer up through the generations with your favorite Pokemon, or that shiny that you remembered randomly finding as a kid. This is fundamentally going to change one of the coolest aspects any 30 year game series has ever maintained 😔

001

DVS @advsntt.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I think an element of game preservation that many people don't consider is that the whole experience should be a part of the preservation. Outside of a few features already being shut down, like Mystery Gifts and 5th gen's Dream World, you can currently experience the older games in their entirety..

100

DVS @advsntt.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I understand it's crazy to expect a developer to continue to create the tools to allow this chain of connections to exist, but it's one of the coolest parts of the Pokemon series and the tools literally exist right now, but won't soon without homebrew applications.

100

DVS @advsntt.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

Additionally, the 1st and 2nd generation Virtual Console titles on 3DS will become their own bubble as well, just as the original hardware 1st and 2nd gens are. The only avenues of transfer remaining will be 3rd-5th gen, and 8th+ in the new Switch bubble.

100

DVS @advsntt.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

It's a fully connected ecosystem currently if you have all the games and devices to bridge the connections. With this decision, 6th and 7th generation games will be completely cut off from any other generation, turning them into their own isolated bubbles each.

100

DVS @advsntt.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

For those that don't understand what this means: Currently, you can catch Pokemon in the 2003 releases of Ruby and Sapphire, transfer them up to 4th gen games via a DS or DS Lite, then to 5th gen via 2 DSs, then to 6th or 7th gen via Poke Transporter and Bank, then to Switch via Bank to Home.

100

DVS @advsntt.bsky.social · 13/08/2026

I migrated my living dex some time ago, but this still sucks to hear. I'd hoped at the very least they'd give us an offline storage option as a final update, but Nintendo up to their usual anti-game preservation bullshit 😔 I've got so many shiny hunts I'm gonna be forced to get back to now 😩
