Story preview:
Laughing, Ifa stood up and held out a hand to the stranger. “I’m Ifa, that’s Cacucu and Paimon.” When the woman didn’t take his hand, he let his drop to his side but kept smiling. “You know, you can’t just pass through Natlan, especially not with our tournament coming up. You should stay a while and enjoy it.”
The blonde hesitated.
Ifa slammed a fist on his palm as a realization struck him. “You met Kachina, right?”
Now that he said it, Paimon did remember Kachina mentioning a blonde stranger. With renewed interest, Paimon studied the woman once more. What had Kachina said? This was Lumine, the Traveler with a reputation, the one who had traveled from country to country, and everything changed in her wake. She was strong and powerful, facing dragons and archons alike. A hero from a fairytale.
Everything about her seemed so far removed from the idyllic world Paimon lived in.
Lumine nodded. “Yes.”
