Bluesky's Head of Trust and Safety handed his block list to a bot. 1,271 people blocked in eleven days. He says it never looks at who you are. Blocks are public, so I checked. Trans people were blocked at 2.5× the odds of everyone else, for posts of the same harshness. 🧵

Title card reading "Who the autoblocker blocked". Three figures: 1,271 accounts blocked in eleven days, against twelve in the two years before. 46% of the readable bulk-loaded accounts had never replied to, quoted or mentioned him this year. 2.5× the odds of being blocked for a trans-identified account, against others who wrote equally harsh posts. Below, a quote from Aaron Rodericks, 1 Oct 2026: "These do not factor in your bio or your identity. I have zero clue who you are."

Lanterns is so good. Most of my comics are indies or Marvel X-books, but this has me in its grip. Also, read "Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees" if you haven't yet.

He found the single must irritating combination of fighting arts to combine so he can be as smug as deifically possible in a fight.

As a medieval, I'm always happy to see continuity in modern life. He's joining centuries of Christian men talking rapturously about how hot Jesus is in their visions.

A welcome bit of good news. It's a drop in the bucket compared to the overall need, but it's a sign that people in office can do good things for trans healthcare when they actually want to. gothamist.com/news/nyc-mov...

NYC moves to spend nearly $9M of gender-affirming care fund for minors

The funding is part of a $15 million investment announced in June as major hospitals retreated from providing such care.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. I love that it brought the threads of the immediate story to a close in a way that gave a clear end to this arc with real weight, and left the plot options to carry on in a way that feels like a natural consequence to these events.

Not that I'm surprised to hear that they're stealing others' holidays and doing the blandest regurgitation of them imaginable, but even still, that's pathetic.

I am thrilled to still talk about how attractive the women in those games are, of course. Because yeah. Women.

I grew up in a family of UCONN women's basketball fans, so I can hang with those, but yeah, the only Games I want to talk about involve computers, cards, or dice.

If you've ever found out about an historical event or era where you've thought to yourself, "damn, that must have been wild to live through", or it seems like Too Much happened Too Fast: that's the Cool Zone. It's cool to study, but bad to live through.

And the related axiom: humans really do just love playing around with goop.

It's kind of staggering how much of human endeavor--food, building, art, communication, clothing--is due to making something wet and then drying it out.

Worse yet: maybe even true neutral. He's placing value on neutrality and no-sides-ing itself as a virtue. 😬 Lawful neutral at least had some presupposition of value to work from as a source of villainy.

This thread does a great job of succinctly and plainly laying out how badly and how quickly trans rights have *eroded*. It's not that trans people are making unreasonable demands, it's that we're raising the hue and cry about how rapidly things are deteriorating.

No candidate, regardless of party, will ever get my vote if they call me a "biological man" and advocate for laws targeting my community. Its that simple.

the trans community’s demand is eminently reasonable: “democrats need to treat trans people as equal partners in their political coalition or trans people will not be partners at all.” so, democrats: do you want to win or not?

I don't really have any additional thoughts to add to this intellectually, I just want to have it in the sightline of everyone who claims to be an ally 24/7 for the next year or so.

I do not think the team at Nintendo is fully aware of or prepared for the very specific response the Metroid: Ravenous announcement is going to elicit from the transfeminine community.
