looks kind of like lights that would be in a reno casino sign, or in an 80's bathroom. tbh i think a better idea is a light sculpture hanging in the ceiling that redirects light down.

yeah this pretty accurately captures figure drawing with charcoal sticks

great read. that kpt comparison really condensed all the criticisms i've had for it over the years, thanks. i think one of the reasons i avoided linux for so many years is because it had that same vibe, until probably ubuntu.

this was a fun game to play. the art on the board itself continued the theme and it had a satisfying clank.

for me, it was seeing the same patterns of misbehavior, like how many times we gotta see these dipshits excuse and fawn over fascists before cynicism is acceptably rational? feels bad having the football yanked over and over again.

but never really bothered with any more details, just sitting on my saguaro, in my lane, moisturized

i feel you there; it's still up in the air if i even have one. been in the community since 08, and just never really bothered.

the tariffs and the layoffs have really gutted a bunch of art scenes, yeah.

010

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 27/09/2026

i just assume they all are at this point.

000

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 26/09/2026

yeah same, it's making me seriously think the mass media is the #2 fascist enabler (rich people would be #1), even moreso than the fascists themselves.

the entire country would rather be constantly dunked on while exclaiming over and over "dogs can't play basketball!"

000

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

this made me laugh aloud, but i realized that the whole affair is so niche and obscure and stupid and sad that i can't explain to someone WHY it's funny without pulling a carl sagan and explaining a whole ass bizarre universe.

she didn't get back to me any further, sorry. good luck in your search for galleries! oh, and if you want, you can contact pat via that link i sent earlier.

i've never heard of that at all. i've heard of combining graphite with a water-soluble clay, but never a metal. how novel!

disclaimer: tested with kde and bash and not much else. also, i am not a programmer, so the script is probably pretty fragile and amateurish.

personally, i never found virtual desktops all that useful since they all use the same desktop folder. binding this program to my keyboard (or chaining it with virtual desktops) enable me to cycle through a few folders i frequently work with.

love this mental image. as a californian i am eagerly EAGERLY looking forward to how newsom humiliates himself when he leaves office.

@miniver.bsky.social being sentimental for a moment, i just happened across an old version of useit.com and following the links to nielsen's new wordpress-style ai boosting blog (and a 404 after a 30s load time) was disorienting all over again. www.chnm.gmu.edu/digitalhisto...

oh, yeah, it is! i just remembered that myrtle press was hosted by the verge. <3

020

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

she might have other shows lined up for the semester, but i know she would love this. oh and btw thank you for making a project website for it; so much easier to make a pitch with it than hunting around on a social media feed.

010

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

i'll let you know what she says within the next day or so, when she gets back to me. if i forget to follow up, the website has her contact info, and you can contact her, just name drop "tall brad".

010

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

yeah sure let me do that right now before i forget...

010

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

i should also note that the gallery may be willing to help with shipping. (i don't recall where you are located). great project btw.

adjectivecat aka brad @adjectivecat.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

does the verge have that community press, or is that another collective?

i know and worked for the gallery director of the kaneko gallery at american river college in sacramento and this would absolutely be up her alley. the gallery hosts all sorts of interesting experimental and political pieces, and she teaches the campus printmaking class.
