Interesting insight into Indonesian cricket in this feature from @shounakwa.bsky.social Would expect Bali to host T20 franchise league matches - like the BBL - and co-host a T20 WC in the next decade or so www.cricketfj.com/p/feature-fr...

There were glory days pre-Westpac when the Boss Mode had no trace of sponsorship 😢

It's become less subtle now because on the spreadsheet is a giant red sponsor's logo that didn't used to be there before

Nagoya (like most of Japan) has been drenched all day for the past two days, and all four men's Asian Games cricket quarterfinals have been abandoned. Still, at least no team's been eliminated without playing a single ball.

Pakistan win with two balls to spare. Maybe would've been too much of a death spiral for Pakistani cricket if they'd lost to Thailand given all they've been through recently.

000

Adit RS @aditrs.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

The men's tournament having two more teams than the women's but six more games (most of which are among Associates, so not even milking Full Member participation) is a total joke

010

Adit RS @aditrs.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

At least when Indonesia got knocked out like this last Asian Games (they were supposed to play Pakistan), they'd played one preliminary game where they beat Mongolia. China literally had zero game time.

000

Adit RS @aditrs.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Also bullshit that the Bangladesh vs China game earlier resulted in China getting knocked out by rankings since it was abandoned because of said wet outfield. Imagine qualifying for a tournament, travelling, having your game abandoned, and then getting knocked out immediately

200

Adit RS @aditrs.bsky.social · 17/09/2026

Thailand vs Pakistan in the Asian Games women's tournament was shortened by a wet outfield - Nagoya's been underwater all week - but the Thais have set it up well with 91 from 11 overs. I would not be surprised if Pakistan struggles chasing (especially if they don't bat Fatima Sana in the top 3)

Complex inter-cat dynamics at play as Chiki gets her claws stuck in a chair where Rubi is sitting while Taro is watching (and presumably taunting, seeing that she and Chiki get driven bonkers by Rubi)

Three white cats look like they're having some sort of discussion. One is sitting on an office chair, one has her claws stuck in said office chair, and the other stands to the side.

At first I thought Swamp meant the last time Freo had two players kick 50 goals in a season, but no, it was only Pav in 2012. For two players, it was in 2006 when Pav and Farmer kicked 71 and 55 respectively 😬 The only other time was in 2000 when Clive Waterhouse and Tony Modra kicked 55 and 50

My pet peeve: when talking about my relationship with my parents and I, them unable to change from "you're wrong and we're right" to "you're wrong and we're right, but we see where you're coming from" Though my folks haven't behaved anywhere near as badly as yours - that's horrible, I'm sorry!

I retract my endorsement of this podcast, one co-host said Freo's not the 1 seed, clearly not worth listening to (Unretract after hearing the digression about soccer, especially as I agree with Mateo in preferring the international game because club football is too unpleasantly like the real world)
