Bots are better than people at Pokemon now. I actually studied chess bots as part of my PhD program, so I'm pretty keenly aware of how they work and what changes this will cause. wanted to make a video to talk about it more, check it out: youtu.be/VSAeOI0CLx0

It’s so weird that Americans have a system that explicitly hurts entrepreneurialism (no universal health care) and we pretend it’s good for business

Bill, we had under 100 yards rushing against ISU and Michigan. Hank Brown is flawed for sure, but we beat Michigan because he threw for 200+ yards against a stacked Michigan D. This feels a little dismissive don’t ya think?

2nd place at the biggest regional ever! With Golisopod! It felt like a fever dream, it was such a wild weekend. I had ten sets with the team before the tournament and somehow it all came together. Looking forward to talking about it on tub takes this week and a team report next week!

Anyway I'm excited for the weekend, to see all my friends, but man I just want Friday to be over so I can actually enjoy the weekend.

So I end up in this state where I'm anxious but don't think prepping intensely is worth it. But I'm too competitive to go and lose so I put like 2/3 the prep of a regional into a tournament where most people prep 3x as much. Last year I did that - and I went 2-3! One time I went 5-3 doing that!

Adi Subramanian @adisubra.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Worlds is weirdly the tournament I am always least motivated for. I go into every regional thinking I can win. For worlds, I feel like my best case is t64. Which gets no prizing. I've never made day 2! The effort / reward payoff for someone without a realistic chance of winning is so demotivating.

No one played it because no one actually enjoyed playing it or they’d simply get bullied, but I think Mystic Mine stun was a real deck that could have had a lot more tops than it did.

Did you know Primal Seed is still limited in the OCG? God forbid someone puts BLS on the field with Macro Cosmos up and has two primal seeds in hand and also a burn card. We can’t let that happen.

They can't keep getting away with it! Argentina has to be the least impressive supremely talented team at this tournament.

One of my hottest takes is that fireworks are outdated. Drone shows are cooler, they’re all more original, serve the same intent while being less disruptive and less polluting.

You guys, the White House accidentally ordered 10x the amount of Porta-Potties that they needed. The lawn is just acres of Porta-Potties. It’s all fenced off and you can’t see, but I took this photo through a hole in the fence netting.

Oh you like Pokemon Champions? Well if Regulation MA is so good, then why did my champions team go 0-8 at Los Angeles regionals?

Finished in 15th place at LA regionals! Felt like I was playing at a high level after cutting Querétaro and wanted to keep it rolling. Had an incredible schedule with a bunch of crazy sets. This format was a lot of fun and I’m going to miss it! Next stop: Indianapolis. Time to start grinding champs

7-1 day 1 at LA. 3 more for cut. Is it messed up I think reg I is more fun than MA?

It's me I'm the one. Not going to NAIC but won the lottery to troll people and let my payment expire. If anyone knows who got the very last slot to NAIC let me know lmao

Everyone is saying goodbye to SV so I will too, even though I'm still on the fence about LA regionals. Proud to have 5 regional top cuts this generation. But honestly, I'm more proud of the results my friends have been able to achieve, often with the same teams, and how I've been able to help.

✅ First regional of Reg I ✅ Lose to the top seed in Swiss using Mirai Luna ✅Get a bye in top cut ✅Lose my first game of cut ❓To the eventual winner This really is just Milwaukee regionals all over again. Really wanted to win this one but can’t complan with t8. And this should be enough for worlds!

Adi Subramanian @adisubra.bsky.social · 05/04/2026

9-2 and into top 8. They’re streaming all of t8 too!

7-1 day 1 at Queretaro. Choked g3 in r8 and im gonna dwell on that all night. One more win gets me into cut. Hopefully I can pull it out.

If it were a remaster and not a port I'd be slightly interested. I can't get into an old game that is just the same experience as the one I already can play. Of course, they tried that with BDSP and it was a flop so idk, this is the cheap and quick option for Pokemon and I guess ppl are into it.

People seem To be so excited about the Fire Red / Leaf Green rerelease on Switch but I don’t get it. It’s a port of a remake of a game that you can already play on Switch?? And it’s not like it was hard to play it rn anyways. Feels like nostalgia bait but it’s just not for me I guess.
