I asked my wife to make The Tall Mug (pictured) in her ceramics class. She refused citing prior "serious" requests: big mug (literally this!), big mug forest themed (also this!!) and tall vase (this yet again!!!). My superior design works for ALL OF THEM IN FACT!!
A crude sketch of a mug about 4 times as tall as it is wide with a small handle close to the top. Steaming liquid is also pictured. The drawing is done on a whiteboard in pink marker.

maar ik niet omdat ik neurotisch ben, en de hele tijd aan niets anders dan “ik moet mijn Nederland-ticket opzeggen" heb gedacht 😎

An homage to the big ol clock I live next to, visualizing its many dings that mark the passage of time
Two identical columns. Each column has 24 rows. The rows alternate between a running count starting at 1 rectangle ending at 12 rectangles, and a row containing only one rectangle.

Same but with different parameters.
Similar to the other pieces in this thread, except this one is more triangle-y

It's pretty cool.
A carpet-like piece. Patterns combine in various ways to create new geometric shapes.

Same more or less, but with color. Somehow I find this one more boring, but still fun.

Recent generative work! Here are different repeating patterns layered on top of each other (in patches, based on Perlin noise). A friend described this as textile from the future and I think that's cool.

Some time ago I received the following notification from my dishwasher because its manufacturer misses me, and wishes I would explore the convenience of controlling appliances remotely. Last night however I set my dishwasher to start but forgot to close it. I received no notifications.
Notification from an app called Home Connect. Text: We miss you. Experience the convenience of controlling & monitoring appliances from your mobile device!

A little cellular automata experiment I made. I start with random noise and it slowly gains coherence. Just a little idea I had

Last weekend I saw some super nice paper at some store in another town, then on the way back I kept thinking about how I should *definitely* block print holiday cards and it's just gonna be a second. Here I am many hours in (not including going back to buy that sweet paper) 🥲
A linoleum sheet with a grid of lines running through it penciled in and some graphics already present but nowhere close to being done

termpencil now *technically* supports animated ASCII art! Not yet supported by the UI but I'll get to that eventually I'm sure

I have added some new tools and other things to my ASCII drawing tool, termpencil. It is going quite slowly, but I like it. Some highlights: - Line tool! - Spray tool! - Color history palette (bottom edge of the screen)! - It's just good fun you know!

Finally the actual meat of termpencil is underway (it's however both ugly and buggy)
A screenshot of "termpencil", showing boxes, oldschool "ncurses" style windows stacked on top of each other. The one in the center reads: You can now draw nifty boxes! with two buttons underneath: Nice (appears selected) and Eh… which appears not to be selected

Working on a little ASCII art editor. This is something that I wished existed (and that I'd even needed for my own job at times) and as usual, decided to make my own because... reasons. It is not out yet, but currently supports: - basic editing - generating a preview script - save/load

A screenshot from the Svelte documentation showing the title "deep state", which refers to Svelte $state, not "deep state" in the way that fascists mean it usually

The HEMA produced one of the worst decks of cards imaginable
A deck of standard cards facing up fanned out showing the faces in a stark red color. 6 of clubs and 6 of diamonds specifically are the same color instead of the traditional black for spades/clubs and red for diamonds/hearts

Full of these wonderful bits
Personal life
Marriage
Smith met Mary Theresa Poole in drama class at St Wilfrid's when they were both around 14 years old,[12][212] and they were married at Worth Abbey on 13 August 1988.[213] They have 25 nieces and nephews[214] but have remained voluntarily childless,[215] with Smith espousing the antinatalist view that he not only objects to having been born himself but refuses to impose life on another.[214][216] He also "does not feel responsible enough to bring a child into the world".[214]

Surely it isn't a problem that "playlists curated by real humans" isn't the default for Spotify playlists, but rather a small and mostly unknown subsection of their extremely wide range of playlists
A screenshot from Spotify showing a title "mixatpes curated by real humans", and several playlists such as "Mixtape #22 Oklou "Birth"" among others

The local catholic church would like to inform us about the coming feast of Saint Isodore of Seville - patron saint of famous wretched den of smut and filth, the internet
An A4 sized poster inside a picture frame hanging in a window. The text reads 4 April Isodorus van Sevilla, followed by a rennaisance style painting of a saint, followed by the text patroon van het internet

680 years ago on this day, at the site of the Amsterdam Dungeon, tourist tchotchke store and Starbucks, the Miracle of Amsterdam occurred.
Building facades in sunny Amsterdam, sporting aforementioned stores. Just behind those buildings peeks an unassuming tower suggesting more behind the buildings

Happy to be at the intersection of culture and technology and being able to appreciate the great irony of an AI contemplating and analyzing "All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace" for me so I can get back to folding laundry
A screenshot from the website All Poetry displaying the poem All Watched Over By Machines of Loving Grace, followed by a section called "Analysis (AI)", in which an LLM seemingly analyzes the poem
