Curious how the politicians who “just tell it like it is” can’t give a straight answer to this question.

@michaelspicer.bsky.social Enjoyed the show in Nottingham last night. Come back soon (or once you’ve written another show).

Makes no sense to me that UEFA can wash its hands of investigating racist chanting because of a minor procedural reason. What did the referee think Molumby was telling him to listen to? www.rte.ie/sport/soccer...

Police/intelligence services won’t want to advertise their knowledge and so we’ll never know. Seems unlikely to me that from a cold start they could raise a significant armed police presence inside 10 mins, as the vigilant civilian reports.

I agree. I’ll be surprised/impressed if the Premier League make a substantial number of charged stick. And then even more so if the punishment is truly meaningful.

Football is a different atmosphere to rugby and cricket. It’s much more tribal and intense. Cricket has natural breaks, you can only move in/out at the end of an over. A common complaint at rugby is that you have constant interruptions from people getting beers. Why copy its flaw?

Concerts you generally focus on what you hear rather than what you see. But annoying as well in some situations.

The Nations League is a very good concept where countries of a similar standard compete against each other - all playing for promotion, relegation or the tournament itself. But the scheduling makes no sense. They need to rationalise qualifiers and roll it almost entirely into the ladder format.

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

There are six Nations League games between next weekend and the middle of November. Is that really necessary just two months after players were away with their countries for up to eight weeks? Is there a realistic prospect these will be high quality contests where fans will fully engage?

'Facism thrives when you let it.' Portsmouth RNLI temporarily suspended services after volunteers received abuse following an anti-migration protest. @mrjamesob.bsky.social says it's one of the most 'disgusting' stories he's heard throughout his career.

It seems the Supporters Trust has found its purpose on this issue, so good for them. However, using a letter that was so blatantly AI-generated does detract from its power and authenticity.

Forget social media influencers and reality TV stars… Nottinghamshire’s Amy Hunt is a great role model for any young person. And some older ones too, tbh. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athlet...

Sydney Sweeney: Amy Hunt says advert is barrier to girls in sport

British sprinter Amy Hunt says she is concerned about the controversial advert starring Sydney Sweeney being part of a "barrier" to girls' participation in sport.

Feels illogical to deploy a wildcard when things are going well. Surely will be a more opportune moment later. My strategy was to WC during the break. Having enjoyed a decent start, I switched Konsa in for Ajer rather than Shaw this week - a tacit admission I’m now going long.

This video shows how hard it is to score a goal in the Premier League. Villa were inches away from breaking the move up on several occasions.

I’m surprised they haven’t brought that back for the social media clips it’d produce, if nothing else.

It would be brilliant if Sky and TNT introduced the atmosphere only, no commentary, audio option that’s available on Amazon.

Less sarcastically, you can walk into any hospital and it’s clear it would fall to pieces without people coming over here.

Hopefully not too bad, but even in a less good scenario we should only miss them for two games with the three-week break coming up. Shame if it denies Jair his Brazil cap.

I do this with my daughter, 2, when she’s starting to feel stressed or upset. She’s too young to do the breath work herself but likes to hug me and feel the rhythm of my chest rising and falling while I gently pat her on the back to time. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Bit of a basic understanding of xG from Nick Mashiter. 0.79 is the xG you get from the penalty spot, so in theory Sels could have racked that up had we nominated him. Wouldn’t mean he was a dangerous attacker.

010

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

So the ref you interviewed about the “clear foul throw” says it was actually a legal throw in?

020

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

That’s a very good point. The only significant exit was one we fully anticipated.

010

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

I’m happy with it. Would have been optimal to have a new CM but if the deals can’t be done then fine. Glasner seems content to develop McAtee. This is our fifth season in the Premier League and the squad has a good age profile. Plus, we’ve had manager upheaval, so gradual evolution is sensible.

140

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Maybe give Glasner a chance?

100

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

Vaccines save lives and here’s the proof (again).

000

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Looking back on his Ipswich highlights, I can see the appeal while also having some doubts. He’s a willing runner and happy to tussle with the opposition. He provides the kind of direct threat Glasner’s teams need. He scored all sorts of goals at Ipswich. Hopefully he can do it here.

030

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Delap made a mistake going to Chelsea last summer, although I’m sure his bank balance will disagree. Should have gone to Forest (or Everton, etc) to get minutes and built into a big six move. As it is, he comes to Forest off a wretched season, probably with his confidence on the floor. #nffc

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 24/08/2026

Watford lost their two centre backs to Udinese so hopefully our boys would get a run here. #nffc

130

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 21/08/2026

I think he gets the start tomorrow however there is Hutchinson, CHO and Kalimuendo competing for his minutes. I personally wouldn’t go there.

000

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Igor Jesus has scored throughout pre-season and should lead the line. Wood should get half an hour, with Jesus either withdrawn or moving into Ndoye’s position. Forest also want another striker, so Jesus’ long-term minutes are less secure than his GW1 start.

020

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Ndoye looks the likeliest partner for MGW behind the striker. He underwhelmed last season but had a strong World Cup and may be better suited to an inside role in Glasner’s system. Hutchinson’s pre-season was disrupted by injury.

210

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Glasner rates McAtee and has used him deeper in midfield. He faces competition from Glasner disciple Schlager and the dependable Dominguez. Yates is doubtful and now seen as a defender.

110

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

Sels and the back five look settled. Williams is the more adventurous wing-back and scored in the preferred XI’s final behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry. Forest still want another wing-back, which could eventually put Aina’s place under pressure.

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

I’m attempting to predict the Nottingham Forest team every league game for #FPL managers this season. I’ll include a whizzy graphic and a few notes. As it’s the first game of the season, I’ve gone early and long to help with any #nffc dilemmas. @emma1.bsky.social

A target, not a bid. Given Liverpool him out I believe contact was made but a non-starter once he politely declined. No chance we would go to £50m on a player out of contract next summer.

010

Ade @adeoc.bsky.social · 19/08/2026

There is no chance Forest offered £50m for Curtis Jones. Though you’re correct that he didn’t want to come here.
