New update on #Swedish elections. At this stage 21.48 tonight nearly all the final remaining election districts have been counted (302 out of 314) and the mandates between the blocs are unchanged, 176 for the social/left/centre bloc and 173 for the right/liberal/populists.

Most shocking about the exit poll is that mainstream right Moderatna are bigger than the far-right Sweden Democrats, which lose support. If this holds up, it would be a painful loss for SD and a quite rare loss for a far-right party that has not governed yet and wasn’t facing scandal.

The @ec.europa.eu now has the same approach to #RuleOfLaw issues in enlargement as it does within the #EU. The language sounds similar to the one that ended up in Court with the Commission's assessment of #Hungary's reforms. The Guardian of the Treaties seems to have a distorted view of reality
