Yeah - in the early 90's I told an older male colleague I was applying to law school. "Oh. To be a legal secretary?" was his response.

Bestemor is long dead and I really wish that weren't the case because I'm so enjoying learning Norwegian.

I've been doing weekly Norwegian language lessons for about a year (and Duo/Mango before that) and THE WAY MY BRAIN WANTS EVERY WORD I DON'T KNOW IN NORWEGIAN TO BE A FRENCH WORD. (After asking my grandmother to teach me Norwegian I had to ask her to stop because it was fucking up my French class.)
