100% agree. I try to think about what I'd do if I moved to another country. Make a decent attempt to learn the language? That's common sense. Respect the local culture? Of course. Change who I am, my values, how I dress? No, piss off. Why would I expect immigrants to my own country to do any more?

Can't believe they're remaking it, or that anyone's willing to take part. I do believe you can separate art from the artist *to a point*. But not when the artist actively uses their platform to promote hate. At that point, buying/consuming the product is supporting the hate.

So sorry you hated it! Re. this scene though, I'd argue (strongly) that's exactly what it's asking you to do. She's explicitly the victim not the villain. Borant set her up to be a cartoon villain for the audience... and so did the RW authorities. Dinniman is pointing out they're exactly the same.

Generally I just plow on or I lose the thread. Getting the first draft down isn't toooo bad because it's new & fun. But each round of editing gets more painful as my brain starts to nope out. Working on something different between drafts helps. Perfectionism & brainfog are a bad mix!

Crippling brainfog! Often can't write at all, and when I can, the fog seems to manifest as a weird form of ADHD. I can only focus when something's new or exciting, like e.g. a fight scene. Trying to put the finishing touches on the final draft OTOH is plain agony and takes months. #SpoonieAuthChat

Agree with every word. What makes me particularly angry is how predictable this was. Did anyone seriously *not* think this was going to end in Arday's death? In particular, could any experienced journalist possibly have failed to see this coming? It's tantamount to murder.

I don't know Arday and I didn't follow the story closely. But I knew it was going to end exactly this way almost from the start. Don't tell me experienced journalists didn't. Everyone who reported on this story needs to take a long, hard look in the mirror. This was tantamount to murder.

This is what used to work for me (especially walks), until baseline fell too far. Now I'm in a vicious circle because I can't do the only thing that helped. Ty so much for the recommends! I've tried psyllium husk but not seed. Will look into all those 🙂

Ignoring a couple of very awkward dates aged about 13, I didn't get to date properly until I was 29 for spoonie reasons. Best advice is to relax, everything will feel very natural and easy with the right person, even if you're nervous. If it feels wrong then it is. Good luck and have fun! ❤️

I really didn't mean to imply the UK is perfect, I was just surprised we were lumped in with a nation involved in genocide. Rights *have* deteriorated here over the last decade, esp trans rights, but we're a long way from a hopeless case. Trumpian propaganda paints a ludicrous picture of UK life.
