Just a warning for everyone, since Video Game Slopterica keeps being the most irresponsible YouTube Channel to exist these days. The Banjo-Tooie Recompilation is NOT associated with us. It is entirely AI-generated. Both Zelda: Recompiled and Banjo: Recompiled have very clear No AI stances.

And adoring the idea of what's currently going on in Samus's physiology. With what happened after Dread, there was no way she came out of that unchanged. Surprised, but interested to see how this next installment goes.

As worried as I am with this trend of rehashing old ground that Nintendo is did with Star Fox and OoT... I did like how it looked, like OoT was spiced up in the best way possible. Interested to see just how different the Zora and Goron tunics will look from the Kokiri green!

- with similar teams (SJ vs QUE) and the Genesis version felt smoother, my team was ready for one-timers more often, and auto goalie felt more complete. And one tiny thing with the menus, I love the fact the Genesis goes into that 'Selecting teams, ready to get to faceoff' tone that the SNES -

I like the presentation of the SNES. It really pops and has a less midi-fied version of 'Get Ready For This'. Not to mention in game, the crowd interacts, whether the home team is on the power play or the penalty kill. However, the hockey itself: giving it to the Genesis. I played similar periods, -

Who's ready for a mini classic game review on Bsky? Just highlighting the differences of a game between the SNES and Genesis/Mega Drive versions. :> It's uh It's NHL '96. Sorry.

At least something was salvaged from the experience? I've always loved that red and gold of the Famicom, and am happy to see something like this. :D

Oh no! It looks like it would have been such a game changer, damn! Hopefully they bring it or something close back with demand? (Also please don't kick yourself, that sounds very time-consuming and painful)

Addi, Room Temperature Ice Enjoyer @addithewise.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

They really did, and I love them for it. And I absolutely agree; the moment I started using the Pro 3 for PC gaming and not an Xbox Series controller, I simply can't go back.

Oh I absolutely LOVE this! No more permanent connection to the Famicom!

It is my favorite controller for N64 games in this day and age. I absolutely understand the nostalgia of the original, but it sports a modern controller feel and has an incredible stick to boot, I've gotten so much mileage out of the 8BitDo 64 on my Analogue. <3

Worries for internal batteries is why I will ALWAYS be an advocate for emulation.

Addi, Room Temperature Ice Enjoyer @addithewise.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

There is one thing I do worry about when it comes to classic games; those with internal batteries. Sadly, NHL 95 and 96 don't save any progress, dead battery, which makes me sad in the face place, but also tremendously worried for my Phantasy Star IV.

I will say it again, the Pro3s are a game changer. Absolutely love how they feel in hand. Same goes for the 64s and the M30!

Addi, Room Temperature Ice Enjoyer @addithewise.bsky.social · 11/08/2026

The Analogue 64s work great with the console, I'm smitten with the Pro 3, and the M30, being the outlier, was a welcome surprise to how well it functions with my Genesis. Soooo much love in these <3

One happy little 8BitDo family! (Not seen: Indigo colored Pro 3, and Analogue 64 controllers in white to match the console, black, and gold. Yes, I know, they have control of my wallet with how much I love their controllers DON'T LOOK AT ME—)

Three controllers from 8BitDo (top to bottom): Pro 3 - Retro Colored; Analogue 64 - Grey; M30 2.4g

This is what I meant by 'so far'. NHL '94 and Mutant League Hockey were already in my collection (yes, so is mutant league football). One big mail day layer, I now own NHL '95 thru '98 on ye old blast-processing box. (Also got a lovely thank you note from the store I got '95 and '97 from!)

Sega Genesis boxes from EA Sports and Electronic Arts stacked on a desk. From top to bottom: NHL '94, NHL '95, NHL '96, NHL '97, NHL '98, Mutant League Hockey.

Classic Hockey goodness in 16-bit form.

Don't judge me too harshly, but I've been going back and playing classic hockey games lately And, I've been enjoying myself greatly with NHL '94 (Genesis) and NHL Blades of Steel '99 (N64) So far.

As someone perpetually in the AL East with the O's (Let's go Jays), every year, buying for them never works, and this year is another round of tire spinning. Pirates are actually doing SOMETHING right, but even still, looking at a possible collapse before September like always
