I think I accidentally made Princess Mononoke fanart. Been playing with textures tonight.

A composite of watercolor textures showing a silhouette of a woman riding a large wolf. The wolf stands on a cliff over a forest with a green mottled sky behind. Two circles represent moons in the sky. Birds fly overhead.

Anyone else need inspiration to write? I always get inspiration from reading someone else's prose, so I wanted to weaponize that today to destroy my writers block. The First Annual RAPWAP is today! Read a Page; Write a Page. Repeat. This is just me but feel free to join in! #RAPWAP

A 90s-inspired graphic in pastel blue with several pastel yellow starbursts. A white rapper in a colorful windbreaker (who looks a lot like George from Grey's Anatomy) gestures as the abbreviation: RAP WAP
"Read a Page - Write a Page"
"A Flash Flood Event"
"Sept. 6"

I'm bored and making practice covers to fill my portfolio with some types that are currently missing. I haven't done many composite covers, so that's what I'm working on right now. Currently open to new projects. <3

Anyone have a book they want a cover for? I’m particularly interested in doing a composite cover. If you happen to be interested in that I’d reduce the price a fair bit with the understanding that I’ll be using it as training. This was a composite I played with yesterday.

Addison Smith (Addi) @addi.social · 30/08/2026

Practicing compositing because it’s a skill I’ve never been very comfortable with. I think I’m getting there. Needs more shadow on the front for sure.

A photo composite of. Young woman in a blue dress lying on top of a dragon’s skull. There are mountains in the background and a blue and purple sky full of clouds. A ray of light shines down with a flying raven.

Charming is now marketing commercial sized toilet paper rolls to consumers as Forever Rolls and honestly I’m kind of here for it.

Sometimes I'm proud to be an American. 🇺🇸 Also wtf this is too much. D:

The most unnecessarily large soft serve vanilla ice cream cone you have ever seen. They called it a large, but I didn't realize they were talking in kaiju sizes. The cone is a mere piglet sprouting from a foot of ice cream. It's in a hotdog tray with a spoon because no cone could be expected to contain its magnitude.

I'm in a position where I might be selling off some of the stuff I've collected over the years, and I have an odd duck item. I cannot find any listing for this book, as if it has never been sold on US Ebay. lol. It's a signed Bulgarian edition of The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch.

The Bulgarian cover of The Lies of Locke Lamora by Scott Lynch. Cover is a gritty art style showing two boys in an apocalyptic (and weirdly science fictional) city. There is a spaceship at the top of the cover for reasons unknown.

Signature and inscription in book.
"For Dan. I have no idea what the hell is up with the spaceship in the upper middle of the cover. Scott Lynch."

I did some designs for someone's shirt business and they want to pay me in shirts, so I'm making fun designs for myself. 👀 #Zelda

A black t-shirt with printing on the front and the left sleeve. On the front is a blue glitchy version of Majora's Mask. In a circle around the mask are the words "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?" On the left sleeve is a purple fairy (Tatl).

So I made a simple color chart (zoomed WAAAY out) to show what a thousand short fiction submissions looks like in my personal journey. Red for rejection, green for acceptance. White is withdrawn, never responded, or pending. At one point I had 81 rejections in a row. (Click to uncrop)

Fun Fact #687: Calvatia Gigantea This Forbidden Marshmallow wants to destroy the world. If every spore from a giant puffball germinated, the resulting mass of fungi would be 800 times the volume of Earth. Giant puffballs produce trillions of spores, but only a small percentage of them grow.

Saw this photo on the timeline and had thoughts. Mostly that Alien 3 was worth it for this shot alone. But also that I think Alien 3 should be viewed as a great director doing his best with what he was given. This movie could have ruined David Fincher’s career due to studio meddling.

In case you're ever worried about an accidental "teh" instead of "the" in your books, just know that this was going all over the Brando sando community a couple years ago.

A photo of one of Brandon sanderson's books, close-up on a page.
"Hey," he said. "Look, it's fine. She has to do what I say."
"I'm. Trying. Not. To ccream. Right now," Yumi said between gasps. "Just. Leave. Me."

Okay, I... love this idea? Literally just a portable monitor with a Mac mini in a velcro case on the back. Bluetooth or USB keyboard/mouse. Very portable and half the price of an actual MacBook. I'll probably do this someday. Could go even cheaper with a refurbed Mac mini.A

I just suddenly remembered the direct-to-dvd movie Live Freaky! Die Freaky! about the Manson Family murders. I saw it when it came out in 06. I won’t say it was “good” but it was definitely a movie. A whole list of punk people involved from Greenday, AFI, etc.

Which starter would you choose? Yes, you do have to take one. Art by David Szigalyi

Black and White Zombie Pikachu. He stares with empty white eyes, his body covered in torn flesh, his fur frayed and frazzled. He has multiple rows of teeth in a gaping mouth. I would still cuddle him, but carefully.

Black and white MONSTROUS Bulbasaur, his skin scaly and mottled. His jaw opens far too wide, showing rows of tiny, ripping teeth. He's still a very good boy. 9/10 needs a new skin routine.

Black and White Charmander sitting on a stump as he tears into the carcass of a dead Pikachu, gore trailing from his claws. He looks at you as if you have interrupted him, but maybe you will be tastier. The now-familiar wide mouth with tiny, razor sharp teeth. He's a hungry boi who deserves belly rubs.

Black and white Squirtle, staggering forward with arms out like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. His eyes are points of light in black holes upon his head; his three fingers are splayed on each hand, long and sharp. His head is slightly mishapen and bald and perfect for little pat-pats.

Playing with Photoshop this morning. I'm fairly happy with the graphic elements of this, and I think the double exposure works nicely. I like the slope from his shoulder to the background. I need to do some serious work on the typography to tie it together though. Not for anything, just playing.

I know December is a slow month for submissions anyway, but it feels particularly dire right now. It's disheartening how many of my top grinder results look like this. If you haven't responded to subs for six months, there's no way I'm sending you anything. :\

Graph from The Submission Grinder showing pending submissions for a market (Tales of Horror). Graphs shows multiple submissions per day since July 2025 with only two total responses logged.
