I see folks beat me to it on recommending my book and Chris’s Make It So 😊 I went deep on researching this topic, for what ended up being a few-page summary in TITF. My takeaway: fictional movie UI is *always* designed for the viewer’s benefit, even if that makes it worse for the person using it.

From one 30-years-and-counting PS user to another: DaVinci Resolve has become my go-to Mac app for all video tasks. It’s great. Some “AI features”, but they’re mostly “locally-run useful ML features”, not “generative stuff”.
