Let's see if I can curse it again and keep the summer days going. I finally packed away the last of my summer clothes and hung my autumn ones up. There's a big difference in the number of spare hangers I have left, so I guess this means I can buy more sweaters and flannel, yes?

I shaved this off a few days after the accident, and have remained cleanshaven since. Today at the corner market I've been buying bottles of wine at for years, the guy behind the counter asked to see my ID for a Merlot. This was the right move.

This pseudo-rant brought to you by my month-long search for an ivory- or beige-colored chunky (thicc!) cable knit Queen-sized blanket made from only natural fibers. Like this, but cotton, wool, etc. Apparently this is too much to ask for in our society.

The guard slipped off my electric razor when trimming my beard this morning, so I accidentally took part of it entirely off. Rather than have an awkward bare patch on my chin I just shaved it all. So now the question is do I keep the mustache?

Finished Count Zero, the sequel to Neuromancer. I liked the characters more & the writing was cleaner + easier to follow -- yet way too much exposition & in-character explanation of background or intent from everyone. Also, stepping back I found the plot kind of flat except Marly's thread. #booksky

5/ every single "fact" or claim in the creationist museum comes down to just simply "nuh-uh, because the Bible says so!". All of these attempts at showing "the evidence" and using "the full scientific method" always just came down to "bEcAuSe ThE BibLE" with circular reasoning.

CHAPTER

MOST RELIABLE DATING METHOD

Without question, consulting a reliable eyewitness is the best method to discover the age of something. For example, a man can accurately determine his age based on his birth certificate because it was signed by reliable eyewitnesses of his birth. The Bible provides God's eyewitness testimony of how and when He created the earth.

God has always existed, knows all things, and cannot lie. Therefore, His Word is the infallible source of information regarding the age of the earth.

"I, the Lord, speak the truth, declaring things that are right." (Isaiah 45:19)

"Your word is truth." (John 17:17)

All Scripture is God-breathed, and it is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness, so that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

... it is impossible for God to lie... (Hebrews 6:18)WITHOUT ERROR

Since the Bible is the Word of God, and since God cannot make mistakes, then it follows that the Bible does not contain errors. This teaching, known as the doctrine of inerrancy, applies only to the original manuscripts and the copies insofar as they accurately represent the originals.

The doctrine of inerrancy does not mean the Bible never records false statements. For example, Genesis 3:4 truthfully recounts the serpent's lie ("You will not surely die”), and much of Job consists of faithful retellings of the words of Job's friends who frequently made erroneous claims. These types of statements do not mean that the Bible contains errors. Rather, the Bible inerrantly reports false assertions made by certain individuals.

4/ I mean, the creationists spend A LOT of time explaining away every single little inconvenient truth that counters their Great Flood myth.

3/ so lemme get this straight, over a period a year during the biblical Great Flood, Pangea formed, then it broke up into the continents we know today. All the exhibits stressed THE ABSOLUTE FACT of earth shattering volcanic eruptions & earthquakes unlike anything today. Oh, and dinosaurs.

So yeah, if anyone is looking for an 8-shelf console table in cherry red finish with matching side tables from ikea (HEMNES line) for $275 around Arlington or DC, hit me up. I'll discount the $25+ I was going to spend on marketplace ads for it.

Theo in Arlington @adamtheo.com · 03/08/2026
I absolutely hate Facebook / Meta especially trying to sell anything on its marketplace. It stupidly blocked my listing for a console table as attempting to sell a "recalled" product because I stated the cherry red finish was no longer manufactured by ikea. It has an even stupider review process.

After many stumbles, my weight loss has continued. I reached a milestone of where I was at in the beginning of the pandemic, ~163 lbs in March 2020. I celebrated with a delicious cheesy bagel sandwich (the Thunderbird) and an iced latte at the new Call Your Mother in Ballston.
Screenshot of a weight tracking app showing current weight at 163.7 lb, down 4.6 lb over the past 30 days. A trendline shows weight steadily dropping over a 30-day period. 3/ And no, I don't have any plans to continue reading the Dragonlance series past this point. From everything I've seen, the quality just really nosedives after these, w/ the authors just kind of losing their way in the world they created. I'm happy with these stories and the memories they created.
