Pink Lady faceoff - Tokyo (1979) vs Glasgow (2026). For me there's only one contender for the title, and it's the ones Dolly was happy to know.
Japanese duo ピンク・レディー , (Pink Lady) who achieved 9 consecutive number-one singles on the Japanese charts, 5 of them selling over a million, pose with Dolly Parton in Japan, 1979. The roof of a Shinto shrine can be seen in the background behind the trees. All 3 are smiling. 3 shouting women stand on a palette on Glasgow Green. One wears a cap saying "Make Britain Great Again" and a "Not Racist" T-Shirt , featuring a Union flag. The other 2 wear T-Shirts saying "Our Country Our Future" and cowboy hats.

“I want to be clear to be clear to people like Daniel, that if there’s a pro-independence majority - I hope that there isn’t - but if there is in the future then I give him my word that it will be for the people of Scotland to decide that. I won’t hide behind Boris Johnson or any Prime Minister. It should be a matter for Scotland. That’s what the question’s about. It still mystifies me that large parts of the English media (and people) expect Scots to support England in the World Cup. We don't ask the French to support Germany, Greeks to support Turkey or Swedes to support Denmark. Why the pressure on Scots to show allegiance to a nation that isn't their own?
