We need to stop building bike lanes. Immediately. Instead we should build emergency vehicle lanes. Buses and bikes can use them but must immediately yield to emergency vehicles. Anyone else using them faces heavy fines escalating rapidly to suspension and revocation of licenses.

Here's how we get Medicare for All done: Make Medicare whole (no one can keep all the parts straight!) Include vision, dental, and hearing. Begin extending to more people, starting with children. We arrive at Medicare for All, which means great Medicare for everyone.

In 1957, a T ride cost 20¢. Adjusted for inflation, that's $2.40, exactly what the T costs today (well, $2.41, but close). The Turnpike from 128 to New York cost $2.45. Adjusted for inflation, it would be equivalent to $29.64. Driving the length of the Pike costs $4.25 today.

Hey mayor @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social @mayor.nyc.gov @governor.ny.gov @mta.info I'm in Toyko and each train line has a jingle so you know what train is coming. Please have the MTA do the same but each train has a NYC rapper create a theme song. Thank you.

And they should be difficult and actually test real world driving conditions. We should be able to say that someone who possesses a driver's license has been certified to drive well and know and understand the rules of the road. Today someone having a driver's license means as much as a napkin.

I've never cried because of a politician before, but honestly I'm pretty close. Where we go from here, I'm not sure. But it's clear it's on us to lead the way, because yet again there is no courage in the mayor's office. Do we need to build the connected protected network ourselves? #ShameOnWu

Whoever this imposter is, go away and please return the real WuTrain to Boston. Six years ago, Michelle Wu DM'd me "I will get a citywide protected cycling network done." Today, we get six pages of talk. The same talk we've been hearing for years. No walk, no bike, no T. Just talk.

Been disappointed by politicians my entire life, but none as devastating as @wutrain.bsky.social turning her back on us. Emphasis on the us. Michelle Wu was different, a rare standout who didn't just talk, but walked the walk, biked the bike and T'd the T. She understood us because she was us.

Motorists act like people who hate cars never drove or used them. Often the opposite. We hate car dominance because we lost a lot of time in cars and we've realized there was never any freedom behind the windshield and that true freedom is outside. We seem crazy because we escaped the matrix.

It's a public safety emergency at this stage. It's time to drastically reduce the amount of cars on the road. How will ambulances and fire trucks get to where they need when we allow people to haphazardly leave motorized living room sets wherever they please, for no good reason. Reduce cars now.

The average speed of a car driving in Boston is 13MPH. That is slower than the average speed of an adult on a pedal bike. Boston should block a bunch of streets from car access to create continuous corridors for the faster vehicles, bikes, to move free of the endangerment and obstruction of cars.

Drivers lost three full days due to traffic, a study found, but there is good news on the roads.

I went to a city meeting on Blue Hill Ave 5-6 years ago. I'm all for an orange line extension but if we can't construct a bus lane in 6+ years we'll all be dead before this orange line extension even breaks ground. In the interim Boston residents on busses sit in car traffic from Milton and beyond.

My hot take is we should not make nor sell cars that exceed the speed limit AND we should create a massive army of people armed with rocket launchers to go around and retroactively put speed limiters on all cars.

10000000000% this. Not only is it bad for the kids but when those kids then grow up they have boring parents they have to take care of who have no hobbies, no passions and no interests. We all only get one life, LIVE IT!

We built cages and called them cars.
Comic panel of a congested city highway with a downtown skyline in the background. The cars are stuck in traffic and their windows are drawn as jail cell bars, with sad stick figures gripping the bars inside. On a separated bike path to the right, two cyclists ride freely. One asks, "can we help set them free?" The other replies, "no, only they can do that for themselves."

I lived in the suburbs of Portland Oregon & had a garage for the ebikes and now I live in Brooklyn in an apartment and still have the ebikes and they are much more useful and convenient in the city especially for grocery trips and transporting our kids. Cargo bikes can carry more than modern trucks.

Some ideas for second term of @mayorwu.boston.gov: -bulldoze Boston Common & the Public Garden & replace it with a multi level parking garage -eminent domain South Station & Back Bay & make the T terminate their dirty commuter rail outside of Boston -bulldoze the Esplanade & widen Storrow Drive

Call me naive but I just think the best way to achieve higher office is to excel at doing the thing the people who voted for you for your current office wanted and expected you to do. Mamdani would have enough votes for the presidency right now. I don't think this Wu will win a senate race but 🤷‍♂️

Not only do kids deserve freedom of movement we should frankly prioritize it. Streets that are safe for kids are safe for everyone else too. For too long "adults" have prioritized only speed and only viewed transportation through the lens of "grown ups" and we've all suffered for it.

My least popular (and most correct) view is that cars should be automatically limited to the local speed limit. Put the pedal to the floor and you still can't go over 25mph in a residential area. (15 in Manhattan btw)
