There are several parts of this story that speak to a deep policy failure. observer.co.uk/news/nationa... This is a real example of the type of slippery slope policy that makes slippery slope arguments so appealing. “It’s only 3k” “it’s only 9k” well now it’s over 200 thousand.

Whilst the Labour Party goes into a meltdown about its inability to get behind its leader or elect a new one. I am reminded of the void left by Twitter, where i would have once watched this all play out. It would’ve been statements on there and seeing who liked what. All gone now.

My favourite thing about the AWS outage is some people writing on Bluesky with true sincerity “we shouldn’t put all our eggs in one basket”. Or even better listing which services are down. If they were all in one basket you wouldn’t be able to tell me. And it would be everything.
