I can read hirigana and katakana just fine, but waaaaaaay too slowly. So, time to get some practice in to speed up! And honestly this looks cute as hell.

Hello hello! A little prelude to me appearing at the Stuttgart Comic Con next month, my interview with @megdowell.com is in this month's official German Star Wars magazine. Meister des Bösen does have a certain ring to it...

I had forgotten how good this thing is. Tiny, light, portable. The keyboard is small but after two minutes you’ve adjusted. Great key travel, feels way better than my MacBook Air, for example.

All right I declare October to be Pomera month, so this book will be finished on my tiny Japanese salaryman digital typewriter! Starting… tonight!

Ha! I’d recommend you start collecting - you can get some this trip and continue filling the book on future trips. Watching a monk or priestess hand write a seal is amazing, and they make a unique souvenir. Any temple or shrine will sell a blank book. Goshuin are then usually 100円 donation.

If you are a writer using Google Docs, you really need to stop using Google Docs. Like, really, stop using it. If you want a free, online, cloud-based word processor that allows for full collaboration and is anti-AI and protects your content, use Ellipsus. From their latest newsletter:

In case you needed more motivation to de-Google: this month's revelations that Google's Al scraped and leaked a game developer's Google Docs content and that they made Trump's geography canon official might motivate you.
Because where you write matters.

Super pumped to be back at Fiction Fest 27 next April at the Bridgewater Hall, Manchester! FF26 was amazing, and the event is only getting bigger and better. It’s well on the way to becoming the UK’s preeminent SFF literary festival… if it’s not already! Info and tickets at www.fictionfest.co.uk

Trying to work out whether the chipmunk on the cover of my new Japanese vocab book is cute or scary… …Also trying to work out whether this is actually very clever as cute is かわいい (kawaii) and scary is こわい (kowai).

I’m not a person to post shelfies but after new bookcases and lighting, the library is looking super nice and super cosy. Not done yet but it’s already my favourite hangout spot.

OK, I think I've cracked the ultimate minimal writing experience. IA Writer app on my iPhone (in a writing focus mode that disables everything bar the app), adjustable magsafe tripod, Keychron K2 Pro mechanical keyboard with Boba U4T switches and wrist-rest. This is a dream to write on.

Hot damn, the forthcoming MOBILE SUIT GUNDAM RG: XARX-ZERO anime series looks great. New continuity, created, written and directed by Kenji Kamiyama, who is also responsible for STAR WARS: VISIONS: THE NINTH JEDI (short and series). This is going to be great.

Okay, what else should I play? I've got Boogaloopers, Angband, Caesar III, Myth III... oh dang, Star Wars Dark Forces, TIE Fighter and Episode I Racer (not sure why they never called it Pod Racer). I have another G4 (only a 400Mhz Sawtooth) but should be able to set up a LAN to play Marathon...
