Witcher 3 on the PS5 feels almost fixed now. After turning off the bloom it’s not nearly as washed out, even in the RT mode. The only real problem left are the autosave stutters, which are mitigated but not gone.

I know it's a completely psychotic thing to stare at but the blood effects in Gears of War 4 is probably the best in the series? It has this volume and effect where it looks like light is passing through it. It's a lovely detail added as the series went for PBR materials and shaders.

The HDR in Gears of War Reloaded looks awesome as well. And on PS5 Pro it runs at 1440p PSSR to 4K in between 90-120Hz with VRR and it looks great. Man, Gears of War is awesome. Probably one of my favorite game series even if I don’t think about it as often anymore.

Been jumping into older Gears games again, just visiting, and while I like the visuals of E-Day, I can’t deny that the image quality in Gears 4 and 5 is pristine. It’s sharp and not all that noise we are used to tiday. I get why things are what they are today, but I do miss the cleaner image.

Finished Gears of War: E-Day and I think it’s the best Gears I’ve played since 2 (never liked 3 that much) and it looks great. Visually it has some UE5-isms for sure, but the detail in the world and how the maps are constructed are phenomenal. It’s violent, grimey and the new movement system ->

Okay so Witcher 3 remastered seems to have an internal check for Wine upon startup. If it detects that it’s running through Wine, like Proton, it disables the RT functions of the game. I guess it’s there to make sure Steam Deck/Machine owners won’t turn it on and complain..?

Finished Silent Hill: Townfall and it’s fine. The later chapters bog it down though and the games’ stalker monster is not fun to navigate around at all. I don’t mind that it’s more of a stealth game but some of the parts aren’t tuned that well and the AI is very simple.

There are a few UI bugs on Witcher 3 Remastered for PS5 (didn’t see them on Switch 2)… Camera Lens Effects are listed twice and I have no option to create a new save, just overwrite old ones.
