My Claude week so far: decent performance but a string of false positive security refusals.

Activ8te @activ8te.bsky.social · 15/08/2026
I hear you. For me useless is mostly senseless security refusal. Token Envy shows those. Opus 5 seems completely over distilled to me. I don’t like it much. I wish there was an easy way to show the quality degradation.

I built Token Envy because “Claude Code feels slow today” was impossible to verify. It turns local session metadata into a private performance baseline and shareable card. Prompts stay on your machine. Try it: npx tokenenvy www.npmjs.com/package/toke... #TokenEnvy

Security at Machine Speed Is the Wrong Race
Machine-speed exploitation will outrun reactive defense. Security invariants create resilience by eliminating attack paths before an incident begins.

Really enjoyed the time with James at Risky Business. Between his James Kettle interview and mine: the models we have today can already do remarkable work; if you take the time to codify your expertise into scaffolding. And what that looks like with IronCurtain, and on what businesses need to do.

Why We Built BandAlert: Taking Back Direct Fan Connection
Social media algorithms are burying your show announcements. BandAlert gives bands a direct line to their fans through SMS: no apps, no algorithms, just your fans getting the message.

I needed a tool to help me recognize intervals via mnemonic song references. I spent a few hours to create ear.provos.org. It will play a reference song for an interval when a wrong guess is entered. It provides piano, guitar and violin to be able to practice with different note characters.

It also means a lot of music goes unheard. Nearly half (46%) of the 202M tracks on services got 10 or fewer plays in 2024. Tough for discoverability.

Activ8te @activ8te.bsky.social · 24/12/2024
I would make the opposite argument. Abstractions are your friend with LLMs as they allow you to hide a lot of complexity once you are building larger apps. At least in my experience limiting the total scope an LLM needs to understand helps a lot. What is your concern with building?

Spotify has not been transparent about the use of PFC tracks, which contradicts the company's marketing of itself as a platform for discovery and a meritocracy.
000
Activ8te @activ8te.bsky.social · 21/12/2024
Spotify playlist editors were encouraged and later pressured to add PFC songs to playlists. PFC tracks are often created by musicians working on a contractual basis, who feel that the system is unfair but do it anyway because they need the money.

An article in Harper's Magazine describes how Spotify undermines independent artists. In 2017, the company launched its "Perfect Fit Content" program, which replaces indie artists' music with cheaper tracks. PFC music is often made by "ghost artists" who are not well-known or may not even exist.
