I knew Medalist was going to hit me directly in the heart, given how many people of all genders/ages started crying within the first volume

my post-gaiden/pirates delusions 🤪

poorly drawn comic page. At Sejima Security offices, Majima sits on Tsuruno's desk. Tsuruno returns and Majima asks Tsuruno for personal help

Majima wraps his arm around Tsuruno's shoulder and leads him towards the window. Majima says he needs help with a big cat, but Tsuruno is confused. Their convo is interrupted when Majima notices a sniper laser aimed at them and pushes Tsuruno out of the way, and dodges the shot.

The glass of the window shatters. Majima gets mad and tries to climb out the window to confront the culprit, while Tsuruno clings to Majima to hold him back.
Saejima, Daigo, and Watase enter and are confused about what they see

change scene to some distant roof tops. Shishido is laying down with a sniper gun and regretting his choice to fire a warning shot, when Majima got too close to Tsuruno, because it made Tsuruno get even closer to Majima.

At the very bottom, the 2 big cats (lion and tiger) eventually meet...!

yess I love the strangeness and super catchiness of Rhythm Heaven! I’ll always remember the disappointed faces of my Glee club members 😒 I’m esp fond of LJ because of the themes 😭😫 a very gray area sort of plotline that you don’t get as much of with mainline Yakuza games!

say it with me now: make your own domain site for your webcomics and use any existing webcomic platforms as mirrors. never put your comics as platform exclusives.

We're all "renting" space on the net, but a generalization: the "more convenient" a comic hosting service tends to be, "less control" you have over your work/space (e.g., tapas/webtoons/etc.). Yes, there is friction/learning curve to having your own site, but you'll gain something from it too.

hwa.dirchansky.com is not powered by a CMS and posted by chapter, but I used some basic PHP for the header/footer elements. You can do the same on nekoweb.org (has free plan and has basic anti-AI-scraping measures) with their "includes" nekoweb.org/ssi

Getting on my comics website soapbox: You don't have to do a 1-page-an-update format for your online comic (though there are pros/cons, of course). I usually post by chapter (~< 24p/each) and it simplifies the reqs/structure/complexity 🤣 e.g., dirchansky.com/mkisa is completely static HTML

If it's thicker book, a basic 3-hole pamphlet stitch/binding with thread works too (tho spine creep!) OH I didn't even know they discontinued the stapler!! I wonder what improvements there will be...mine still hasn't had issues after over a decade of use and probably...hundreds of zines later?!

110

DIRE c h a n s k y @acornduck.at.app.wafrn.net · 22/09/2026

I think a stapler is sufficient if you're sticking to zine/booklets that are less than 40p! I've just been using the swivel one from MAX HD-10V (Japanese brand, not a long-arm) for half-letter sized booklets. (copybooks 4ever!)
