In 1951, a famous photograph captured the legendary comedy duo George Burns and Gracie Allen having lunch inside the Hollywood Brown Derby restaurant. Located at 1628 Vine Street, the Vine Street Brown Derby was a premier Hollywood hotspot where stars gathered, famously known for the celebrity caricatures lining its walls. During this specific period, the married powerhouse couple was busy transitioning their massive radio success into the early golden age of television, having launched The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show on CBS just a year prior in late 1950.
