On Sept. 11, a Rio Grande Valley teen was arrested after filming a viral video of an ICE raid. ICE agents also pepper-sprayed him and assaulted his friend. On Sept. 21, ICE arrested and deported his mother. We refuse to become numb to this violence.

Ectopic pregnancy deaths have surged since Roe v. Wade was overturned. In Texas, where abortion is banned, it can be a struggle to receive the proper care to treat ectopic pregnancy. Our state is punishing pregnant people — while also delaying the release of a maternal mortality report.

Texas’ criminalization of hemp-derived THC products will disproportionately impact Black and Brown Texans. Black Texans are 2.6 times more likely than white Texans to be arrested for marijuana possession in Texas, despite similar marijuana usage among all races.
