HAPPY #YAOIDAY EVERYBODY! my husband put it best when he said that howler was our personal love letter to vintage melodramatic yaoi - with the addition of furries, trans rep on both sides, AND a super indulgent fairy tale world.

The setting is inside the black lodge, next to a lamp post with a strong light source is a statue, two hands in a strange formation & a cup of coffee turned upside down pouring out. This whole concept in LOTR is one of my favourite parts of the whole book. “Evil fucks up because evil people fundamentally cannot imagine that others are not motivated by the same things as them” is another theme that feels relevant right now

🔥 BRUTE WISHES HE DIDN'T REMEMBER THE NIGHT THE GUILD BURNED 🔥 Brute is haunted by the memories of his traumatic past; is there a reason these dreams of the event have began again, or is the past truly as behind him as he thinks? 😱 LINKS and MORE INFO BELOW! 😱 #writing #oc #horror #shortstory

RAZED: A Short Story by Achjayel is a cover that depicts a figure sitting, consumed by flames, while two sets of eyes stacked on top of each other look on. The title RAZED and subtitle A SHORT STORY BY ACHJAYEL are overlaid.

A summary of the story is overlaid on a low-opacity version of the cover. It reads:

"“ Brute wishes he didn’t remember the night that the guild burned. “

More than 25 years have passed since the night that
changed Brute’s life forever, but dreams of the horrible event have begun incessantly haunting him. Despite having to relive that fateful evening, he’s safe and sound now...right?

As he goes through the memory, he recalls his encounter with the creature that shook him to his core. After destroying his life as he knew it, it slunk into the woods, never to be seen again.

Will it slink out of the shadows somewhere here in
his new life and finish what it began?

Why have these dreams come to haunt
him so frequently?

Will he overcome the fear that plagues him?

This is only the beginning of Brute’s story--he will be
forced to face these questions and more sooner than he thinks.

The past is not as far away as he hopes."
