Telstra says it covers 99.7% of Australians. On a 3000km drive, a Herald Sun journalist had no coverage for half the trip, and only 62% of regional residents rate their coverage well vs 70% in cities. Beyond time for reliability standards, roaming and UOMO!

Some Australians spend 10%+ of their income on connectivity. The benchmark is 2%. They go without other essentials to cover it. Senator Henderson and ACCAN CEO Carol Bennett aligned on this point in the Senate hearing on UOMO: mandatory domestic roaming is a no-brainer.

Telstra's map said Robert's home in regional Victoria had 4G coverage. ABC's 7:30 measured his signal at -122 to –125 dBm (which under ACMA's incoming rules is classified as no coverage). From 30 June, all telcos must use the same standardised maps. About time. www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4i0...
