“But some Americans have gone too far in the other direction. They have engaged in whataboutism regarding anti-Jewish hate. They have failed to denounce antisemitism in the unequivocal ways that they properly denounce other bigotry.”

Churchgoing is rising, but the Church of England is falling behind because we’re serving such thin gruel.

“Jew hatred is real, but today’s anti-antisemitism isn’t a legitimate effort to fight it. It’s a cover for a wide range of agendas that have nothing to do with the welfare of Jewish people …[and] pose a direct threat to the very people they purport to help.”

Evil is particularly enjoyable for me as it features @acblume.bsky.social's church prominently - an altar I know well (which does NOT have anything behind it, despite what is on the show haha)

The cope didn’t make an appearance in the show. They never asked for vestments — although the matching gold frontal can be seen in several episodes

One very nice thing about being a priest is sometimes being allowed to wear a big ol' cope* in a sacristy out of Central Casting** @acblume.bsky.social *Yes that is spelled right. It is a cope, not a cape **I mean it—it's played itself in at least one TV show (EVIL on CBS)
Fr. Flourish wearing a gold cope, standing in a cluttered sacristy.
