I was playing Fate of the Fellowship with some friends yesterday and one of them had to leave mid-game. As the owner of the game it fell to me to take his turns. One of his characters was Gandalf, and so on his turn I was looking at the board and said, “Where is Gandalf?”

In chapter 11 of The Fellowship of the Ring, A Knife in the Dark, Tolkien makes up horse fans by assuring the reader that all the ponies that bolted from the stables of The Prancing Pony went on to have very good lives. How different from so many horses being eaten by Goblins in The Hobbit.

Playing Starfinder, the GM’s girlfriend is in town (we love her) so she’s playing a temp character. We’re in an undead strip club called Bonerzzz and in the middle of a firefight. Her initiative count comes up and she introduces her mystery character: one of the skeleton dancers!

Not gonna lie this concert has been significantly harder on me than when Castle Rat opened. Crammed in like sardines for a long time waiting on the bands to change has been hell. When they opened I was able to step back, but now that they’re headlining it’s been waiting and waiting and waiting
