Got so caught up in movie editing that I didn't end up making a solo entry for the skyfishjack AMV contest 🥀

that kind of preservation is why I'm looking for the source of the Emerald stickers!!

Matt (Absol) @absol.standingintheodds.com · 29/09/2026

While researching, I found a brand new GBA label sticker I'd never seen before in a 2004 "Pokemon Sealbox" set. Really cool

Corocoro's Ruby/Sapphire book did!! Got this one at least pinpointed, but it's been so much trickier than I thought trying to find the exact one I'm looking for. Not a lot of scans for the guidebooks either so I've been having to thumb through auction listings to see the pictures of the inserts.

Matt (Absol) @absol.standingintheodds.com · 29/09/2026

I've been searching through corocoro issues/strategy guides for a couple hours now + even an Emerald sticker book, and none of them seem to have these specific stickers. I wouldn't be surprised if it was a special magazine appendix addition, but the documentation on those is so shoddy

Matt (Absol) @absol.standingintheodds.com · 29/09/2026

There's maybe one listing for an Emerald with this sticker every year, and I have to just wonder where it came from. I know Ruby/Sapphire had a magazine/guide that had a label with it, but what did this Emerald stuff come from?? I think it has to be real, but it seems very limited/rare

Matt (Absol) @absol.standingintheodds.com · 29/09/2026

This one yahoo auctions listing from last year has been driving wild: it says the stickers came from a magazine supplement, but I have not been able to find ANYTHING saying where this label/SP frame came from. paypayfleamarket.yahoo.co.jp/item/z436131...

Been using my old Canon PowerShot more often recently. There's something I love about a dedicated digital camera's photos that I don't get from using a phone camera

my son and I went for nachos and brought our consoles. he found a shiny Dratini and demanded it (and his new Croagunk plush) be part of a picture with my Halloween Game Boy

yeah WindyPrairie is too busy with other projects, plus if he ever returned to the project, he wants to fix making Unown/forms spawning and refine a few bug fixes. Gen V+ is just out of scope

i think one big factor (among many) as to why AI has had such a foothold in coding spaces is because the majority of people dont consider programming to be art

Also despite all my Pokemon stuff my whole life, Earthbound might *actually* be the most important game on this list because that game and the community surrounding it really shaped me to be a more understanding and caring person

When I was 11 I was going to My Chemical Romance concerts and participating in NaNoWriMo where I wrote 25k word Pokémon fanfic. Even though it's somewhat different now with the age of the internet, kids are still people that deserve a space to learn and grow and experience what they love.

Matt (Absol) @absol.standingintheodds.com · 22/09/2026

Obviously there are many spaces where kids *shouldn't* be online, but in a world where ""online safety"" bills keep pushing them out of spaces where they can foster their creativity as the next generation, it's important to remember that not all kids are dumb babies and need a space, too

Some creators get SO taken aback when they learn kids watch their Pokemon videos, but, like, do you think an 11 year old is still gonna be watching Cocomelon?!?!? When I was 11, I was browsing serebiiforums, researching complex game mechanics, and making fusion sprites.

Going down an interesting rabbithole about the old arcade game Pokemon Battrio... the Pokewalker-looking screen!??!? the unique designs for the trainer classes!?!? the cel shading!??!? I wish this was something that was preserved somewhere

There were only TWO roundabouts I knew of in that town, and they were both on roads that barely got any traffic (but I got to drive on one of them almost every day)

I really loved my old bike route in Louisiana, but I knew it was not very safe. Heard that someone got hit by a car today riding their bike on the sidewalk on one of the main roads I took (there's no bike lane), and I can only wonder if I'd still be ok if I was still taking that route every day
