I'm thrilled to share an agent's guide for ✨THE WISHING WELL✨, an adult cozy fantasy, complete at 81k words. This is a story about found family, overcoming old prejudice, and belonging. 📻 feisty antiques 🌷 quiet romance 📚 forgotten history w/ humans Please reach out if interested. Thank you!

A photo of ceramic vases and other antiques on wooden shelves with a white overlay that says:

An agent's guide to THE WISHING WELL by Nefer Doane
adult cozy fantasy
81k words

The Pitch:

Nori Savens can’t wait for the Wishing Well to open so she can summon her familiar. But when the shadow cat instantly dislikes her and the Wishing Well stays open, Nori and Sebastian—along with the rest of the island—will have to set aside their differences and work together, or a horde of ravenous familiars will break through and destroy their quiet seaside town.

For Fans of...

The Keeper of Magical Things by Julie Leong
The Spellshop by Sara Beth Durst

with temperamental antiques, quirky friendships, found family, seaside town, and quiet romance.

An Excerpt:

"A strange growl vibrated through the Wishing Well, deep enough to echo against stone.

Something was wrong.

She stared, her chest tight with dread. The shadows sped faster, small sparks of flame shooting into the air. She scrambled back as the Wishing Well opened—and a lithe something jumped out."

@keiralekseii.bsky.social Hi Keir! Thank you for your request during #PitchDis! I sent you my query back in July for Joypit, and it was rejected. Would you like to see the query again? The only change is the synopsis for clarity. I wanted to make sure before submitting again.

Agent Guide for Blood of the Broadlands, 99k, Adult Romantasy #Q #A #R #F #questpit

Title card with background a foggy Appalachian landscape, "Blood of the Broadlands" title, under it reads "An Appalachian-inspired revenge quest meets a demon road-trip romance in a kingdom built on sacrificing women"

"When the sacrifice--a deadly trial for unmarried women in the Appalachian-inspired wilderness--claims Devera's best friend, she swears to make it to the northern mountains and demand the Wretched King end it once and for all. But the deeper she travels through deadly landscapes, the more entangled she becomes with Ciaran, a demon whose connection to the ritual threatens Devera's revenge, her humanity, and eventually, her heart."

Comps are Foxglove King by Hannah Whitten, Knight and the Moth by Rachel Gillig, and M. Night Shyamalan's The Village.

“My children!" the elder yelled above the crowd. "We are gathered tonight to honor the girls who will be given to the wilds of the Broadlands as an offering to appease The Great Curse and the Wretched King.” I fought against rolling my eyes. “As it has been done for centuries, our unwed girls will enter the woods at the outset of dawn tomorrow, and only the bravest and most worthy among them shall survive.”

No one. No one survived.
