I’ve been trying to articulate why the “AI could cure cancer” argument feels so weak to me—and I realized it’s bc “the cure for cancer” is cited in so many other contexts where we also won’t take action. “Save the rainforests;” ”that homeless kid needs a chance to grow up to cure cancer.“ Like ok…?
