:o it works (and reduced from 30GB to 16GB because I wanted to check if it works before ordering a bigger microSD card)

Honestly surprised this is still supported / automatically comes up

Highly recommend a metal tool, glad I threw it in my cart even tho the iFixit kit came with a plastic one. I couldn’t get it open with the plastic tool

Ordered a battery and an SD reader HDD replacement for my 20-year-old iPod Video, and looking forward to my first little electronics fixing project.

some recent screenshots (no this isn't my actual top 7)

And rather than a (often arbitrary) rating system, I'm using an absolute overall ranking. I haven't organized this yet, but as an example... It leads to a lot of internal debates.

and doing an X-Men movie marathon last year really skewed these results.

imo this really illustrates the lack of movies coming out in my favourite genre, comedy.

This chart makes me want to find a movie from every year to watch. (also again, only movies I've seen since 2020 are in here)

It dips to zero when we stayed in Hong Kong for 3 months while moving countries.

In 2020 I started keeping track of watched movies in a notebook. Always thought it would be neat to have some stats, and found Letterboxed too restrictive, so got a little webapp running for myself.

look I get the slop criticism, but I like image generation for letting me turn dumb random thoughts into images. like imagining a world where Glover is considered such a classic he becomes part of the MCU

Already happier with the results than the curve tool inversion workaround, and it's a much faster workflow than using plugins with LR. Plus it plays nicely with my Fuji RAW files so I don't need to convert them to DNG first.

I had a small Gatsby site I built for a grant project that I've wanted to migrate to something modern, but haven't had time to deal with all the... Gatsby. With Codex, I migrated to Astro, and then also improved the dataviz and code itself, all with a lot less time and effort headstoneaddresses.com

Built a little component for hikes on my Astro site to show a leaflet map and metadata. The data (minus start + end) comes from a build script that converts .gpx files exported from SwissTopo straight to .geojson, so I can just drop the files in :) wayswe.travel/articles/hik...

and there we go — a little image carousel svelte island on the wayswe.travel main page, with a timestamp and a TV static transition effect.

Pretty happy with how this little component is coming along though :)

We achieved peak cellphone in 2008 with a 78g, 10mm thick candybar whose 320p LCD screen showed off animated wallpapers. My only complaint was, ironically, no headphone jack. Also a finicky charging port — if that didn’t go, I probably would’ve gone a few more years before switching to a smartphone.

Sometimes I roam Google Earth looking for remote islands I wish I could visit, but likely never will. The latest I found out about is Kerguelen. Some neat trivia and links:

I think it’s a good non-political example of why arguing on the internet is usually pointless.

This is a pretty bad one imo. I tried to find out if it got confused with another boa that did catch fire, but couldn’t find anything on Google so I asked it again. And so it gave me another hallucinated boat fire.

Abbie Schenk @abbieschenk.com · 10/09/2024

I’d say I finally got it to hallucinate, but now I’m questioning all of ChatGPT’s other responses.
