Incidentally, if you weren’t already aware, you can run Activity Monitor in Instruments against your iOS devices and watch CPU and resource usage across the system

Haha yeah definitely rare opinion 😅, I found the level too confusing to follow 😅. I’m at book 7 right now 👀

I was going back and forth between: Fable driving, spinning Opus sub agents for impl, and Opus driving, asking Fable to review. Now mostly it’s: Fable driving/architecting for large change, Opus subagents, and Opus driving/doing the change for more focused work

The issue is also that according to some people that don’t think AI agents helps with coding, if you think it’s useful, then you’re not a “real” coder/don’t know what good code looks like, and therefore your opinion is invalid 😅

Totally agree! I really like Apple as brand, I’ve got an iPhone and use macs, but I was very much “no way I’m getting the rumoured foldable Apple phone”. Then they show that and I’m like: Wow. Hot. And now I want one xD

Wish people spent more time thinking “ok this is here, now what” instead of “when will it leave” 🤷‍♂️

Not saying that financials aren’t inflated though, but I do think the “can’t wait till this all goes away” crowd is wishful thinking, it’s not going away 😅

So much of this 😅. I think also as devs we’re one of the few industry were LLMs are currently very helpful, and other people just don’t get it when we say “no it’s not just a bubble based on nothing, there is definitely some value”.

Really wanted to go this year but couldn’t because didn’t have the days off for it 😅, hopefully the best of it will get to London over the coming year 🤞

Feels like that might also work for regular computer science architecture too 🤔 (even when there is no formalisation), might try on my vibe coded project 😅

Ah I see your point, yes when evaluating a model like this for cybersecurity perspective and removing guards, probably should air gap it 😅

Adrien Baron @abaron.net · 23/07/2026
That fact that it found a way around that without instructions to do so, and by finding a zero day exploit in production grade software, is quite cool? Like a human given ssh access to the same machine would also have had to know how to find that exploit to gain internet access
120
Adrien Baron @abaron.net · 23/07/2026
I mean I see your point, if we want to prevent it to do anything it should be air gapped. But (to my knowledge), it’s quite standard practice to have isolated machines in VPCs that only have network access to specific machines, and no internet
130
Adrien Baron @abaron.net · 23/07/2026
then the model found a zero day in the package manager server to access the server it was running on and from there got internet access. It’s not super clear from the article whether it also breached things in HuggingFace infrastructure (seems implied, but not details) 2/2
100
Adrien Baron @abaron.net · 23/07/2026
My (partial) understanding of this is that the box they ran the experiment on didn’t have internet access, just access to a package manager on a server on their VPC and nothing else 1/2

I’m making www.theatreninja.com a platform to find better theatre tickets in London (built on @cloudflare.social). Does some cool trick like streaming tickets for all dates of a show using ldjson to the FE, and showing the best price for each seat at any date on one seatmap

They already supported edge caching for origins behind their network, and a cache API to get/set item in cache in workers, but this makes it super straightforward to cache SSR apps running at edge (which is a growing use case for workers)
100
Adrien Baron @abaron.net · 08/07/2026
It’s a bit more than that IMO, it does use cache headers, but they support basically edge response caching for workers (that also run at the edge). Also the fact that the cache is shared independently of the invocation method is really cool!
