I like that the truth has “limited” on site parking (it’s still too much). I like that it used less concrete and resources to build. I like that it encourages you to use public transit, bike or carpool. I like that the parking plan is the whole neighborhood. I like that there are shows most nights.

Sort of insane fact about how broken US urban planning is—America now spends more building *just the lights for roads and highways* than on all subways & ground mass transit combined Spending on roadway *pavement* is 18x transit spending

Two major wrecks at Church & 16th Ave N I’ve witnessed in the past 3 months. Church St is a death trap and this intersection is a nightmare. The CHYM Complete Street project for this corridor can’t come soon enough.

Bikes move people. Personal vehicles create congestion. This image is a perfect demonstration of that.

Lock in y'all, we're talking about East Bank Boulevard again. The Wasioto Bend MCSP amendment is going before the Planning Commission this afternoon. This amendment proposes a new street grid through the Wasioto Bend neighborhood, including the portion of East Bank Boulevard south of KVB.

Three weeks into September and this has been the hottest and driest start to the month on record. Our average high so far has been a staggering 97.3° with only a Trace of rain measured at BNA. Today will likely be the first day with a high temperature below 90° since August 26th.

A macho culture of performative selfishness might start on the roads, through racing, rolling coal, ever bigger SUVs ... But it doesn't end there. If we want to live in a decent country which values human life, we need to change this culture. My column. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

This story buries the lede, but if you pull out a calculator and do the math, AAA found that the average American spends $15,031 a year for a single car! www.cnbc.com/2026/09/14/c...

Car ownership costs an average of $5,851 a year on top of auto loan payments, analysis finds

Has always boggled my mind how thr streets on the perimeter of one of our most iconic parks can be so bad to walk or bike on. It’s no wonder Centennial feels like a giant parking lot sometimes when it’s not very pleasant to access by other modes.

can we make a 3 strike rule with flex posts? if they have to get replaced 3 times, they turn into bollards.

So much for all those dockless parking corrals we added downtown lol. I can acknowledge the net positive of dockless micromobility but when it comes to the parking situation I find it sad that we’ve deemed it acceptable for our ROW to be as hazardous as this.

Does anyone know what’s going on with the cycle track on 51st in the Nations? First of all, a lot of the flex posts are in bad shape. What’s worse though is that closer to Centennial they removed any and all delineators and never replaced them and now drivers are parking there.

Is that why that side of the street continues to lack any type of delineators? Hell, you can barely see the bike lane paint even at this point. Can’t wait for the last tower to be done. Maybe then we’ll get properly protected bike lanes on both sides.

All it takes for no right on red to work is some drivers with respect for the law who will see the sign and not turn on red thereby holding up all the drivers behind them as well. It’s not going to be 100% but any amount of reduction of right on red turns would be a safety improvement.

Got this one yesterday for Church St next to Nashville Yards. It’s disturbing how often we rationalize putting bicyclists at further risk simply because of “construction.” Maybe NDOT should use smaller vehicles to make a repair as simple as installing a new flex post

I crash out a little every time I find damaged flex posts along my commute and have to file it as “repair bike lane bollards” in Hub. Maybe if we actually used true bollards I wouldn’t have to put in a hub request for them on the same street 2x a month!
