To the excited Gen Z who asked where to buy a CASE of Cut Water for the Cardi B concert tonight... God speed you crazy little goblin. God speed.

The same folks who thought playing Dungeons & Dragons was the height of evil are now ignoring the Epstein Files and protecting a pedophile who shits their pants. Oh repugnant irony.

I gotta get better at using this site. That is all.

I hope the dude at Pioneer Square took my transit advice of Bus 17 (part of my job) over the private @trimet.org security who told him the Yellow Line. 35 minutes by bus my way, 90 minutes & 27 blocks on foot by theirs. They think the Yellow Line goes to 28th and NE Dekum. Train your people.

Look, I might be some slick city dweller now but the rural roots never die... Don't need no HD antenna when you got an empty can of cider, big ass strip of foil, and some random coaxial you found and stripped!

New idea, get 4 or 5 friends and save up enough for a couple of sleeper cabins. Book an @amtrak.com from the West Coast to the East Coast (generally 90 hours) and run an epic D&D adventure. #wotc #ttrpg #traintravel #gaming #amtrak

Hey @pbotinfo.bsky.social - About 90% of the ICE kidnapper vehicles in Portland lack a front license plates, which gets you a ticket in Oregon. Are you enforcing that or just limiting it to average citizens and letting facists get away with it? cc/ @mayorkwilson.bsky.social

Time to put the pressure on KATU, they're a Sinclair station. And remind local businesses that buying ad time on a Sinclair station will lose them customers. Call KATU at 503.231.4222 & Sales at 503.231.4200. Hit their bottom line.

If @dropout.tv gets back into the podcast world, they need to sponsor me and my All Jason Statham analysis show. Better still, I get into the @dimension20.bsky.social dome where the Intrepid Heroes face BBEGs from the golden era of American Action Films. Or don't, this is a stupid idea.

I finally got to read Batman #1 from Fraction & Jimenez. It is such a fun debut. It's giving really strong O'Neil/Adams with some sprinkling of Englehart/Rogers era and I am here for it. I can't wait to watch this story unfold.

I feel so very called out here. Also, not wrong.

It's been bugging me for weeks and it finally hit me... Gavin Newsom is our Raphael from Baldurs Gate III. He's the nasty devil running our House of Hope (i.e., the west coast)... He's the devil we need but boy howdy will there be a cost one day. Eh, worth it to keep MAGA Mindflayers at bay.

My Path of the Wild Barbarian has never rolled a 5 on his surge until now, so he lashes out 1d6 Force damage when hit and since my in game sister had a Tarroka deck manifest, I decided my Force surge looks like Pidlwick II as played by Lucky Yates in the Black Dice Society. I make no apologies. :)

Oh 13 Assassins, you are such a comfort movie in these times.

I had to teach a very young Gen Alpha how to play pinball today. So, I guess I am dead now and you are reading the ramblings of a ghost.

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 25/06/2025

Hey @pbotinfo.bsky.social, good on you finally fixing the Smart Parks... But when down to one f'ing lane, maybe just make parking free till you fix it. Instead of the 40 minutes it took to go one level down. It's like the ghost of Mingus Mapps is still screwing us.

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 16/06/2025

Only thing I love as much as writing is cooking... With cooking competition shows being a tight 2nd. If there is one constant, if you're facing a classically trained French chef, take them out as fast as your can. You simply CAN'T out cook them. You can't.

030

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 27/05/2025

Whew. That bit of truth cut deep.

030

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

Alas, probably not. If I remember correctly, freelancers actually can't form a union. They can form a more informal guild but they lack real bargaining power.

320

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

It is still very frustrating that no guild will allow comic creators in. I am sure there are technical or legal reasons, but honestly it just feels like professional snobbery on their part. Or I'm just bitter. :)

040

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

Yeah, this is all true and maddening.

020

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

Made worse because if currently working comic creators had a general strike, the major publishers would have scabs lined around the block. (Or, just crank out reprints).

120

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 26/05/2025

And a blessed World Dracula Day to all who celebrate and a shout out to Duncan Regehr, one of best (and in my opinion, underrated) Draculas. #draculaday #monstersquad PS - If any publisher has the comic rights to The Monster Squad, 100% hit me up. So many ideas.

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 25/05/2025

For reasons a double-feature of Sisu and 13 Assassins is very cathartic.

I can't wait. Then, more Trek scripts!!! :)

Aarón Durán @aaronduran.bsky.social · 09/04/2025

I mean, they had to make room for a comic about a white European witch, so you know. Sorry, kinda cashed out on the comics industry so I don't really care about censoring myself.
