I’m used to getting campaign texts around this time. Threats, however, are something new.
A text from phone number 217 212 2672 that reads “You’re gonna miss her when she is gone for good.”

The old McDonald’s in the Broadway building that’s been empty for ever finally has some new inhabitants.

About a year ago these protective crosswalks got put in downstairs, to make it safer to get across the street to buy groceries. I don’t know how many times people have illegally used the bike lane as a right turn lane, but I’ve almost been hit by the car doing it twice now…
A crosswalk outside the Safeway on NE Broadway near the Lloyd Center. There are two lanes of traffic, then a concrete island, then a “protected” bike lane, then the corner of the sidewalk proper. The bike lane is, for some unknown reason, able to accommodate cars.

Came across this on my way home from work. I have questions. I suspect I’ll never get answers…
A sign on a telephone pole: a plain white sheet of office paper with black text. It reads:

Dating Dave?

I haven’t tried the number, but if they want it out in public…

Was walking home from work and saw this beauty growing up through the concrete. Not only that, turned out I snapped this photo right at 1:07pm. I’m calling that a good omen…
A sunflower growing from a crack in the sidewalk. It stands a good 5 feet tall.

Last four characters you saved on your phone are your D&D party. So I got Grant O’Brien, Tim Curry as Frank N. Furter, Opus the penguin, possibly also as Frank N. Furter, and Prince. There’s going to be a lot of sex while a confused penguin watches in this campaign…
A parody Magic the Gathering card featuring the Room Full Of Grants bit from an episode of Game Changer. I do not have the room to fully explain the context any more than that. A custom D&D spell that is framed by an image of Tim Curry at Frank N. Furter. Opus the penguin doing a simultaneous Dolly Parton/Tim Curry cosplay. I have just learned that Richard, Daisy’s awkward long-distance boyfriend in the tv show Spaced, is played by the same actor who plays Trent Crimm in Ted Lasso, and I really don’t know how to process this information…

Went back to work, then hung out with some friends I’ve not seen in far too long a time, then when heading home witnessed this bit of beauty.

The northern entrance to the Lloyd Center. A scrawl on one of the Lloyd Center walls, that reads Lloyd 4 Ever. The O in Louis a heart. A banner hanging from the food court level, reading Llong Llive Lloyd. A note I saw on the window to where Barnes and Noble used to be:

Thank you, Lloyd Center, for being our refuge, our place of rest, of friendship, of community. For being our place to create, hope, and learn. We take you with us always.

Oh dear god! I’m watching the new season of Batman: Caped Crusader, and I just heard James Urbaniak’s voice coming out of Dr. Hugo Strange. Now that’s goddamn delightful casting, for obvious reasons. Hint: it’s because of the Venture Bros.

It’s the little things that make me happy. Like discovering the Criterion Channel just put up this series in its entirety up for streaming.
An image of Patrick McGoohan lying prone underneath a white weather balloon, with the caption The Prisoner: The Complete Series. Underneath it, below a Play icon, is the following:

“Long before TWIN PEAKS beamed prime-time surrealism into the American living room, there was THE PRISONER, the 1960s British cult sensation that pushed television into new realms of unsettling, Kafkaesque mystery. Series creator Patrick McGoohan stars as a nameless spy who, after he abruptly resigns from his highly classified job, is kidnapped and held in a strange, deceptively idyllic town known only as the Village, where his quest for freedom collides with the sinister machinations of a mysterious authoritarian sect determined to keep him under their control. With its prescient exploration of free will in the age of surveillance, this pop-culture touchstone remains one of the most discussed and endlessly analyzed series in television history.”

It is still June, but the local Safeway has candy corn available for purchase, which is more proof that there is no god.

I am deeply pissed that I can’t show this to Kevin…
The top half is a caption, reading:

My friends installed this porch camera for porch pirates and I fear they overachieved. People walk up, make eye contact with her, and suddenly remember they have morals. No packages stolen since. No Girl Scouts approaching. Even Amazon marks it "delivered with respect."

The bottom half is an outside door, a welcome mat on the stoop. Next to the door is a severed doll head, smiling with blonde curls of hair. A Ring camera is jutting out of one eye.
