Working on a secret project. Yes, I'm still infected with grannysquareosis. #crochet

I got bit by the granny square bug. I saw two big cakes of yarn in my stash and decided to attack them until I can't make any more more squares. Granny squares are wonderfully pluripotent: they can become so much without having a plan for them.
A dark green and pink crochet granny square with a grey border is in front of a pair of granny square stacks with similar designs to the first square. A smaller, incomplete square is barely visible.
All the squares have yarn ends all over because PureZero doesn't care about making things look neat.

I had to fold the lovey blanket into a crane—it was square-shaped and made from 9 different squares. It's now my profile picture and my banner! Just pretend that the banner uploaded like it should have.
A blanket folded up like an origami crane. The "crane" is colourful and is made from various granny squares stitched together.

I thought I was making a unicorn lovey, but I guess my hands had different plans. I'm making a dragon instead! A little under 5 hours spent on making this lovey.

Caffeine makes stitching go by so fast. I had 3 squares and part of another one yesterday. Now, I'm starting a critter's head. Currently about 3 hours into this little project.

@goodwarlock.bsky.social and I may or may not have been experimenting in a visual medium that may not have been explored by the voracious. How it works kinda reminds me of myself: doesn't make sense until you look at it in a certain way.

I declare the month of August to be Vore Month because a day is not enough time to ponder about how I got into the concept of people eating others. Stay tuned for voracious posts throughout the month. VΦ.

Stitching all of the stinging bits on the sea nettle. Those oral arms love to curl (they're mostly linked stitches), but the ruffles tame the arms a bit. After this will be markings on the bell.
A crochet yellow sea jelly with lots of small tentacles. It has four oral arms with two plain and two with orange ruffling to look like actual jelly arms.

Some people say we're on top of turtles, but I think it's jellies all the way down. Had a cake of chenille yarn and decided to make it into my current marine obsession. It follows the same body as the moon jelly and somehow ended up being around twice as large.

This little head comes after around 6 years of amigurumi experimentation and 5 previous prototypes of dolls. I considered the following in the design of this mockup: • Armature options • Adaptable to various designs • Design consistency • Low/no sew • The usual voracious aspect. Can't forget that!

I always pronounce Bluesky as "blue-skee". Why I do that is beyond me as I'll say other words with "sky" in them correctly.

Benefits of editing erotica: • You get to read it before anyone else • You get credited for your edits (and additions if you're that bad) • You get to bless it with unholy fluids before it reaches the public Read my better half's (@goodwarlock.bsky.social) new story in the reply.

Frogging a project is arduous and at times disappointing, but now you have yarn you can use for something else that will actually make you happy. I've fallen out of love with a vest and I think I'll turn it into a shrug instead.

I often get bad ideas. This one just happens to have been written up.
The text "Jester arrives at work and discovers he's in charge of feeding Kelly, a green anaconda lamia." is typed in yellow.

Made one that looks like a moon jelly. I crocheted 40(!) little tentacles and hand embroidered the rings (somehow aesthetically pleasing gonads), but didn't have the foresight to crochet the oral arms with the rest of the body. I tried to crochet the arms on after, but couldn't make them look right.
Amigurumi (crocheted plush) of a small, green sea jelly and a larger, blue sea jelly are in front of a yellow yarn cake with a partially made amigurumi piece and reddish crochet hooks. The blue jelly resembles a moon jelly (with embroidered white rings) while the green one is more plain. All are on a black background.

I've got something in the works. Might make enough jellies to fill Jellyfish Fields.
A light blue yarn cake (stubby and thick (rather than long and thin) yarn skein) next to a work-in-progress crochet sea jelly of the same blue colour, and a smaller, light green sea jelly. A red crochet hook sticks from a loop on the the unfinished sea jelly. Everything is on a black background.

I got around to uploading the final result. It was a quick mend taking maybe 30 minutes to do. Getting the motivation add my watermark was something that took me longer than needed to do. I'm wondering if my furbies are into the Men in Black movies for the same reason a lot of folks are…

I got a hoodie as a memo from a favourite amusement park ride's gift shop a while back, but only recently had I realised a good chunk of the sleeve wasn't stitched properly. I had my little Furby sewing buddies help me find the seam, and I had to take a goofy picture with them.
A variety of Furby toys are placed around a black hoodie sleeve on a white background. One of the Furbies is poking out of a popped seam on the hoodie.
The hoodie is from the Men in Black Alien Attack ride, by the way. You can't tell from this image alone, though.

Whilst stuffing up the gigastomper, I saw I had a bunch of minky scraps large enough to embroider on. I'll probably stitch some more faces tomorrow on a different fabric.

Bahg. You know who you are, @goodwarlock.bsky.social. Anyway, I've been playing around with my good machine recently. I know I puckered my fabric and can't stitch in the lines: that's why I use muslin instead of faux fur.
The word "Bahg." is embroidered on a beige muslin fabric. Other things like an stylised animal face, part of another animal face, and the rough outline of a paw pad. The fabric is held in a white, plastic, machine embroidery hoop.

Planning out the spots by embroidering their outlines. I'll end up changing the spots to make them more game-accurate as well as more round. I can't freehand circles without them becoming wonky.

Third prototype made. Looks a lot more like a yoshi egg minus the spots. I've got an idea to mark where I'll appliqué spots. A curious thing is that the spots are randomly scattered on the egg in game models. I'll see if I can make something similar.

I found the goofy goober who was posing as me! Can't really do too much to this fella, though. Anyway, I've been working on prototypes for an egg plush. I want to make them rounded and spotted, but the seams I've used do not make sewing the eggs up easy. I'll probably simplify the seams.

Almost done! There's a wedge of fabric in the side of the foot that led to me basting rather than pinning. Hopefully that will stop any shifting or nonsense my machine wants to throw at me. Soles aren't attached to the rest of the foot, but could have the footpaws done by tomorrow or the next day.
An unfinished, fabric, sock-like animal foot costume part as viewed from its left side. It is flipped so a knit backing is visible and faux fur pokes out the seams. The toes are pink with black claws pointing upward while the rest of the foot is grey. All are on a white fabric to ensure the deeper hues of the black claws are visible. Underneath the white fabric is a black fabric that PureZero uses as a background for their works.

Stitching these tootsies up took longer than expected. My machine did not like stitching through faux fur, minky, and stuffing, but I managed with some yelling and profanities.. I had cut out more toes than needed, so I might make another set.

Stuffed up all of the pads on one of the feetpaws. I like stuffing the pads harder than desired so they'll be squishier when the stuffing deflates. I've also fluffed up the fur between the pads for some realism and to prepare for the final shave.

Another fabric piece like the one featured is off to the side and mostly out of view.A pink faux fur fabric piece with the backing (non-furred side) facing the camera. Thick, black satin stitching in the shape of paw pads featured in the middle of the image. There are loose black and pink threads everywhere. The pads protrude up due to stuffing inside of the pads. Reuploading because my images are bugged. I played thread chicken and lost. Going to need to get some more thread.
A furry pink fabric piece with black minky appliqué in the shape of a generic paw pad. A gloved hand (belonging to PureZero) holds an empty, white, plastic spool. The same pink faux fur piece viewed from the back. Pencil marks indicate this piece to be the sole of a footpaw. Other markings were and are used as guides to stitch a tight satin stitch for the paw appliqués.
