Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. Following the attacks, our country came together and united as one to heal.

Our county’s fourth and final River Days Festival of 2026 is this Saturday, September 12, at Fort Smallwood Park in Pasadena from 11 am to 3 pm. These events provide families the opportunity to get out on the water, celebrate our local rivers, and learn how to protect them.

Today the county received an updated timeline regarding the remediation work at Empire Towers. The owner is working with a licensed structural engineering firm that has evaluated the site, and their contractor plans to begin remediation soon.

This morning, Anne Arundel County has adjusted road closures around the Empire Towers area, maintaining the safety perimeter while creating a detour for businesses that are located outside the collapse zone but have been impacted by road closures.
