Happy Labor Day! Movie recommendation for the holiday; The 1978 epic drama "F.I.S.T." directed by Norman Jewison About the rise & fall of worker turned labor union boss Johnny Kovak (Sylvester Stallone, based on Jimmy Hoffa) #LaborDay

I like AOC but Francesca Hong in Wisconsin honestly feels like a prediction for how her presidential run will go; Will have great positions and be running against incompetent Centrists but will lose Swings States due to the establishment & corporate media being united against her

If Environmentalists, Labor Unionists, Queer Rights activists, and others on the Left started openly waving around Guns like the Right does, perhaps they'd start seeing more solid progress on their goals (including, ironically, Gun Control)

Funny how California and Florida play opposite roles in the political ecosystem; California exports Blue voters Florida absorbs Red voters

My family would occasionally try the "eat around the table" thing but it never lasted more than a few weeks before we went back to individual eating (heck, the dining room table is basically another shelf at this point)

...okay, maybe not more Platner's (Troy Jackson is great though so while Platner may not have the moral standing, he has the politically pragmatic standing to strongarm the Democrats into picking Jackson as his replacement to keep the progressive energy going)

Admittedly this chart is an oversimplification, but it is rather alarming how they're so many factions in the DSA that are anti-AOC (it's that kind of purity politics idealism over pragmatism that's gonna drag the DSA down)

010

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

I REALLY hope the DSA getting their second wind and the Centrist meltdowns means that the Neoliberal control over the Democrat Party is finally starting to weaken (like how the Neoconservatives in the Republican party got overthrown)

Supporting (or at least not opposing) a Trillionaire Tax should be a basic litmus test for any Democratic Candidate

Despite living the high life, Diana doesn't actually own any luxuries (for long at least) Her thieving means money is no object so she's prone to going on shopping sprees but lives a nomadic lifestyle going from penthouse to penthouse so she tends to donate most of it when she's had her fun

THE SHEEP DETECTIVES: KNIVES OUT meets PADDINGTON in this family mystery film that is one of the best hidden gems of the year. Utterly charming, witty, and funny but can get surprisingly dark and deep at points

It could have been the antidote to the gritty grimdark sickness "Game of Thrones" inflicted on the medieval fantasy genre, but audiences were too stupid to see the vision

Movie Recommendation (for no reason at all): 2022's "How to Blow Up a Pipeline" Adapted from the 2021 nonfiction book of the same name; It is a tightly-paced heist-film-esque eco-thriller that is really efficient in the use of uniting these various characters for a single goal

Because modern audiences can't handle mystery and ambiguity anymore They demand to have every detail explained and spoonfed to them

While The Punisher would absolutely be for Trans rights (he divides people of ALL races/religion/genders/orientations/species/etc into "innocents" and "targets") and would respect Sam as Cap, he wouldn't be that passionate about it as Frank ain't exactly a passionate guy

If I had a nickel for every time a movie released in March 2026 about an action girl who has to kill her way through a rich satanic sacrifice cult in New England to save her estranged sister, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

000

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 23/03/2026

Agreed. If Dems/Liberals/Leftists started openly waving guns around like the Right does, they would get more stuff done (including, ironically, Gun Control as the Right would be crying to disarm them like Reagan disarmed the Black Panthers in California)

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 12/03/2026

Hot Take: American Libs/Dems shot themselves in the foot with Gun Control Now the ones with guns are supporting the fascists while the ones opposing the facists have a Batman-level stubbornness in refusing to use arms (Openly Armed Peaceful Protest is an underrated tactic)

For the last day of Black History Month, I want to bring up the Oscar-winning 2023 film AMERICAN FICTION Not only does its witty writing still hold up, I LOVE how it takes a satirical hammer to the whole White Guilt/Black Trauma genre with a "The Producers"-esque "suffering from success" plot

000

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 15/02/2026

Agreed, cause the Writers/AI will completely miss the central joke of the movie; Jack is NOT the Hero He's the comic relief sidekick who THINKS he's the badass action hero

Adrian mainly uses a base blend of Boxing & Fencing However, this seemingly basic combo allows him to study his opponent's fighting style and he adjusts accordingly, adding in other styles and techniques as the fight goes on (it helps he has centuries of experience)
