Happy Labor Day! Movie recommendation for the holiday; The 1978 epic drama "F.I.S.T." directed by Norman Jewison About the rise & fall of worker turned labor union boss Johnny Kovak (Sylvester Stallone, based on Jimmy Hoffa) #LaborDay

I like AOC but Francesca Hong in Wisconsin honestly feels like a prediction for how her presidential run will go; Will have great positions and be running against incompetent Centrists but will lose Swings States due to the establishment & corporate media being united against her

If Environmentalists, Labor Unionists, Queer Rights activists, and others on the Left started openly waving around Guns like the Right does, perhaps they'd start seeing more solid progress on their goals (including, ironically, Gun Control)

Funny how California and Florida play opposite roles in the political ecosystem; California exports Blue voters Florida absorbs Red voters

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 01/07/2026

Admittedly this chart is an oversimplification, but it is rather alarming how they're so many factions in the DSA that are anti-AOC (it's that kind of purity politics idealism over pragmatism that's gonna drag the DSA down)

010

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 29/06/2026

I REALLY hope the DSA getting their second wind and the Centrist meltdowns means that the Neoliberal control over the Democrat Party is finally starting to weaken (like how the Neoconservatives in the Republican party got overthrown)

Keir Starmer feels like foreshadowing for what will happen for the next Democrat elected to the White House...

Supporting (or at least not opposing) a Trillionaire Tax should be a basic litmus test for any Democratic Candidate

The Democratic Party needs more Mamdani's and Platner's and ALOT less Schumer's and Manchin's

Movie Recommendation (for no reason at all): 2022's "How to Blow Up a Pipeline" Adapted from the 2021 nonfiction book of the same name; It is a tightly-paced heist-film-esque eco-thriller that is really efficient in the use of uniting these various characters for a single goal

020

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 01/04/2026

If I had a nickel for every time a movie released in March 2026 about an action girl who has to kill her way through a rich satanic sacrifice cult in New England to save her estranged sister, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice, right?

Hot Take: American Libs/Dems shot themselves in the foot with Gun Control Now the ones with guns are supporting the fascists while the ones opposing the facists have a Batman-level stubbornness in refusing to use arms (Openly Armed Peaceful Protest is an underrated tactic)

Markiplier absolutely carries this engaging slowburn of a lovecraftian sci-fi horror film. The middle may drag & repeat at times but you can tell there's genuine personal passion that went into this film even down to the editing & cinematography. #IronLung

All the Anti-ICE Protests NEED to adopt THIS energy 2020 Protests made it clear that unarmed peaceful protest is just target & baton practice Openly Armed & Organized Peaceful Protests is a great tactic as bullies avoid situations where someone will actually shoot back

CHARLIE THE WONDERDOG was clearly written by AI It hits all the familiar beats of a superhero flick, but the events themselves are barely related, like somebody fed the formula of a Superhero movie into a computer and animated the resulting script

020

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

The fact there isn't a single Openly Armed Anti-ICE protest in Minnesota is proof that nothing was learned from the 2020 Protests (where the few openly armed BLM protests actually had police behaving themselves) Minnesota NEEDS that Deacons for Defense/Black Panthers energy right now

I surprisingly enjoyed RENTAL FAMILY The "stranger in a strange land" aspect fits with the themes of being desperate to find meaning & connection (even if artificial) and the pacing was just right due to the engagement. Absolutely deserves it's spot as an awards season contender

One thing I love about the NYC Mayoral Race is that crazy cat man Sliwa clearly DESPISES Cuomo and is more interested in bashing him than he is in opposing Mamdani (that and he's the more entertaining opponent to Zohran compared to the more boring Adams & Cuomo)

000

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 29/10/2025

It's interesting how Zohran Mamdani and Gavin Newsom are such opposite ends of the same successful anti-Trump spectrum; One utilizes East Coast grounded-ness and substance while the other uses West Coast aggression and spectacle

030

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 18/10/2025

ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER and GOOD FORTUNE make for a surprisingly fitting leftist double-feature One being an anti-fascist thriller dramedy and the other being a pro-worker/union comedy

010

Anthony Canzonetta @aacanzonetta.bsky.social · 28/04/2025

My criteria for what would make a good Democratic candidate in 2028 is; "Can I picture him telling Trump to 'Shut the hell up' to his face in a debate?" Walz, Pritzker, and even Newsom all meet this criteria. Beshear and Buttigieg do not.

Happy Valentine's Day Everyone! For the holiday I HIGHLY recommend the Romcom-Slasher film, "Heart Eyes" The movie works because it perfectly executes & balances the Slasher AND Romcom elements; The kills are gory & fun (a la "Scream") but the leads have FANTASTIC chemistry
