I saw this so now you do too: Sonic the Etrog
Really not sure how to describe this but it's Sonic the Hedgehog as Sonic the Etrog (like a funky lemon for the Jewish holiday Sukkot)

gratia examplae, someone I follow on Instagram posted about this book, seemed interesting, took a few screenshots and make this to-do item
Screenshot of a task in the Please app titled 'God & Golem, Inc. — Norbert Wiener,' with a thumbnail of the book cover. The task description reads: 'Book: God & Golem, Inc. by Norbert Wiener — "A Comment on Certain Points where Cybernetics Impinges on Religion". National Book Award. Story caption: "holy shit everyone should be required to read this book" (etymologynerd).Instagram Story from user etymologynerd, posted 18 hours ago, showing a hand holding up the black paperback cover of 'God & Golem, Inc.' by Norbert Wiener, subtitled 'A Comment on Certain Points where Cybernetics Impinges on Religion,' with a National Book Award seal, an eye-in-triangle symbol, and a red circular icon. Overlaid text reads: 'holy shit everyone should be required to read this book.'Instagram Story from user etymologynerd, posted 17 hours ago, showing a person with glasses and curly hair holding a black book against a brick wall. Overlaid text reads: 'wiener argues that our relationship to machines should be best understood through a theological lens,' 'AI/algorithms start as representational but then function operationally - kind of like the golem in Kabbalistic tradition, or Pygmalion and Galatea,' and 'this is dangerous because, like the broom in the Sorcerer's Apprentice, our creations can spiral out of our control - so how do we ethically "cast spells?"'

Security Considerations

There is no security, only Zuul. Well, not even Zuul. Everything is accessible on an open WiFi network and HTTP server. Do not use this to pull your d*ck pics from your Game Boy Camera.

Talking 'bout DIDs the way Shell Silverstein wrote about in his poem "Woulda-Coulda-Shoulda"
WOULDA-COULDA-SHOULDA

All the Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
Layin' in the sun,
Talkin' 'bout the things
They woulda-coulda-shoulda done…
But those Woulda-Coulda-Shouldas
All ran away and hid

I don't know how I should feel
Here are a few options channeling the vibe of Alex Akers (@a2.co), an Apple Software Engineer on the Shortcuts team, focusing on tech, automation, and lighthearted developer quirks:

Option 1: The iOS Automation Nerd
> writing a shortcut that automatically filters out my own bad ideas before i post them. structural integrity testing of my brain is failing though.

Option 2: The Apple Ecosystem Dev
> nothing quite like the feeling of deleting 50 lines of complex legacy code and replacing it with a single, perfectly functioning native API. good afternoon to everyone except whoever wrote that legacy code (it was me, three months ago).

Option 3: The Swift / Tech Side-Project
> spent three hours optimizing the build time on a personal project I haven't touched in six months. it now compiles 0.4 seconds faster. time well spent. 🪵🩳

Claude says `is_expired_token`/`extract_dpop_nonce` should inspect the actual XRPC error body (e.g. `"error":"use_dpop_nonce"`) instead of collapsing every 401 into "expired," and nonce-retry should loop (or re-check for a fresh nonce) rather than doing a refresh attempt after a single retry?
This is a HappyView bug, not a client-side scope/header issue: is_expired_token/extract_dpop_nonce need to inspect the actual XRPC error body (e.g. "error":"use_dpop_nonce" or similar) instead of collapsing every 401 into "expired," and the nonce-retry should loop (or at least re-check for a fresh nonce) rather than falling through to a refresh attempt after a single retry.

I bought a neat hardware thing. It was slightly more than I wanted to spend, but far less than it would cost me to try to build it on my own (before I get too stressed to keep going).
User dhuartson posts: Don't let anyone talk you out of spending $15 on a new hobby. That $50 will be the best $400 you ever spent.

Had this convo with an early ChatGPT model about @neonacho.bsky.social in my notes from July 6th, 2022
A script in which Alex is arguing with Boris, the best person, why pandas are the best animal. To Boris, everything is the best, so it is hard to convince him.

Alex: Boris, you have to admit that pandas are the best animal.

Boris: No way! Everything is the best, so how can pandas be any better than anything else?

Alex: Well, for one thing, they're really cute.

Boris: That's not a good enough reason.

Alex: Okay, how about this: they're also very rare, so they're kind of like a symbol of good luck.

Boris: That's still not a good enough reason.

Alex: Well, what if I told you that pandas are actually really good at problem-solving?

Boris: That's more like it! I didn't know that.

Alex: See? Pandas are the best animal!

Felt cute (won't delete later)
Alex is leaning on a large, shiny peach sculpture in an outdoor area. The peach is situated on a circular path surrounded by hexagonal tiles. In the background, there are trees, planters, and a few people sitting at white tables. The scene is well-lit by natural sunlight filtering through the tree leaves.

Revisited an old project tonight, 2Bit Bridge 🌉 Mounts on your phone or laptop so you can view and copy from your PicNRec. I worked around the limits of how much filesystem I could fit in the RP2040's RAM; it's more dynamic now so I can handle up to the full 18,000 images (in theory!)
Photo of the 2BIT BRIDGE dongle that looks like a small Game Boy cartridge. There's a USB-C end on the top, and the "cartridge" has a photo I took of the Brooklyn Bridge on it.
