Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance So technically this could be considered my first KH game since I played the demo a good bit as a kid. Only now though am I actually getting to play it. Game is good, flowmotion is really cool. My main gripe just comes from how buggy the Steam port felt

Pokemon Pokopia With how much I loved the DQ Builders games I was really hoping that I’d enjoy this more while I did like the game overall it really could’ve been better if it had the QoL their other series has had (infinite materials, better storage, and better tools) Good use of mouse mode though

Visions of Mana I actually really liked this game despite it's problems. The combat was really fun and a major step up from the Trials remake. That being said stuff like fast travel limits and slow side quests did a good job at dragging the experience down towards the end

Star Fox Adventures I've been looking for a reason to play this and it being added to NSO gave me the push to finally play it. Overall I liked it. Although I did expect a bit more out of the exploration in the game and I wasn't expecting the difficulty to spike towards the end

If it had an upgrade pack option for 10 bucks then sure. I’ve already had my time with this game (100%) and don’t plan to pay 30 bucks just for better graphics and a higher difficulty. Still a good way to get it for people that don’t own it already though

Born of Bread This was another Paper Mario inspired RPG that ended up being pretty good despite how buggy it was at times. Music was good and I liked the party members. I will say the game felt like it leaned more on the easy side though at least when comparing to Bug Fables

Supraland This is a puzzle game combining elements from Zelda, Metroid, and Portal. While I can see the inspiration, most of the areas were so big that it was hard to keep up with random (sometimes important) upgrades or the various puzzle mechanics

Another Direct for today and it had some stuff I'm hyped about and some I'm not sure about New Metroid is Cool and it being after Dread is interesting New Kirby looks pretty good so far Age of Calamity Switch 2 was a welcome surprise Pikmin 4 is a mixed bag for me right now and Xeno 3 DLC seems good

As for the game itself I feel a bit more torn on it. Graphics look good but I'll need to get used to them. I don't like the new item system and that they are still using Wild era Ui elements. Rest of it looks fine and the voice based Ocarina is pretty funny.

Just got around to watching the Zelda Direct and while it featured about all I expected. -Orchestra getting a tour is cool, I just hope it comes near where I am -I was hoping for a trailer instead of a title for the movie -Amiibo and special edition stuff looks good

The main things of note for me were Toon Link’s parry, spear Lana somehow being the best of the three, and Wizro’s and gauntlet Link’s grabs being good for more than just funny looking attacks. Additionally Ghirahim being able to pull officers out of keeps was really cool to see.

Axiom Verge 2 After how much I liked the first I should’ve gotten to this sooner especially since I’ve had it since launch but the early game turned me away from it. Now I’d say the game is pretty good despite that even if it’s a bit too easy after a point. The first one is still better imo

Garden Story This was an indie game I had for a while that combines elements from the Farming Genre along with some Zelda. It does a decent job at that even if they clash a bit with the day structure and slow town progression hindering the exploration and combative side. Overall I still enjoyed it

I also took a clip of the funny Louie moment. Visuals do look better aside from some UI elements looking a bit pixelated but I don’t really have the best eye for that stuff anyways. I should probably see about trying Bingo Battle online someday as it’s been a bit since I’ve played it

With the Switch 2 update out I decided to do another run of the Pikmin 3 campaign and actually got a new PB. Which was a bit surprising as I felt like I was pretty slow on some days. Also most of my deaths were either me being dumb or trying to rush a fruit by something

Halo 2 The second game in my run of the series which featured a much more enjoyable campaign for me. Guns mostly felt better between ammo, damage, and dual wielding. The Arbiter was pretty fun to play as even if the ending was disappointing due to a cliffhanger.

Halo: Combat Evolved First time ever touching the series and I think it was pretty good. Campaign didn't do much to sell me until the midpoint but some guns were fun to use. maps were way too big, and vehicles were pretty clunky. I'm interested to see what the rest of the collection is like though

Steam World Dig 2 A Metroidvania themed around mining which makes you strike a balance between rushing for upgrades or slowing down for gems. I do think the sequel ended up doing a good job at continuing the first even if both games are just alright to me

Bug Fables Man do I have thoughts on this one. I thought I’d like it more with how much I liked TTYD. I do think the game is fine though and it did do a good job at its bosses and story, but it was a slog for me to get through it. I’d still recommend it to any paper Mario fan (more in alt text)

Overall my issues seem to stem from three main things.
BP basically being split 3 ways with each character having their own badges with HP being in a similar situation with you only getting a plus 1 on everyone per level if chosen over BP/TP.
Overworld enemies being too strong between high HP/defense or high offense and debuffs which almost make items/tp required to use to not struggle in them.
The lack of meaningful damage boosts as the only ones I could find are either temporary, tied to party positioning, or badges that encourage riskier plays (which has never been something I cared for).
Also my thoughts are either too long on these things or the character limits are too small on here for what I’m going for
