Heyyyyy it's been a long time since I've posted here, work and life has been very busy lately. Here's a drawing I finished recently. I was on vacation last week so I had some time to sketch, yay #art #illustration #illustrator #pirate #ocdrawing

A digital illustration of a woman with light skin and fluffy wavy brown hair, sitting on a barrel on a dock, with one leg tucked up and her hands clasped over it and her other foot braced on the barrel. She's wearing an off-the-shoulder beige shirt, brown pants, and knee-high brown pirate boots. The sky behind her is filled with blue, purple, pink, and yellow clouds, painted with the hues of the sunset.

Happy Meme Monday! 🥳 I’m not necessarily against enemies to lovers, but I prefer it to be a healthy, well-thought-out relationship that deeply explores all the ramifications of such an ordeal, and not just a romance that’s “spiced up” because the man is an asshole. #enemiestolovers #romance

Image against a gold background, with purple, teal, and gold accents. Image is of a woman making a disgusted and then an intrigued face. Text on the disgusted panel reads “enemies to lovers…” Text on the intrigued panel reads “…but they form a bond based on their mutual struggles & a genuinely-built newfound respect for each other”

Happy Typing Tuesday ⌨️ Camp never goes out of style, y’all. And while there’s a time, place, and audience for a grittier tale, some of us still want a story that can be at once intense and thought-provoking, yet also just a little ridiculous and a whole lot of fun. #writer #book

Text against a purple background, with purple, teal, and gold accents. Text reads "We need more camp in stories aimed at older audiences. All the melodramatic fun goes out the window once you turn like thirteen"

I’d love it if we could see more stories of girls breaking free of what society expects of them. If female MCs could be whatever the writer wanted—instead of adhering to the standards of sexist critics, or nitpicking advice-givers who just want to shove them in a different kind of box. (3/3)

Any time a creative turns to this tech, they are saying "I do not respect the people who do this thing. I do not value their creative contribution to my vision. I think they are so worthless, they can be replaced by the machine that ate their work." It's not surprising this is seen as hostile.

Aaand the last dump for the moment, some recent DTIYS challenges #artistsofbluesky #dtiys #art #illustration #magicalart

A lightly cartoon-styled illustration of a woman with light brown skin, vitiligo patches, and flowing pink hair. She’s floating in the air with her arms held at her sides, and a long wooden staff blooming with pink flowers floating before her. She’s wearing an iridescent light green and peach pink halter top with a matching skirt, green heeled sandals with laces up her calves, and a multitude of gold bracelets, rings, and earrings. Green vines wrap down her arms.

An illustration of a woman with light skin, yellow eyes, and long flowing purple hair, staring straight ahead while she lifts one arm to magically levitate an open book. She’s wearing a purple sleeveless top with a long skirt and dark blue-purple knee-high boots. The background is dark and swirled with texture; a large purple disc hovers behind the woman, who glows subtly with white light.

more Halloween!! A crossover between Blue Sky Studios’ Robots and the Nightmare Before Christmas. Because, why not lol. I kind of saw some similarities between the main characters, so I thought that would be cool. #robots2005 #nightmarebeforechristmas #illustration

A digital illustration of two of the main characters from the 2005 animated film Robots, Rodney and Capps, dressed up as Jack and Sally from the Nightmare Before Christmas. Dark tree trunks frame the background and a bright white moon glows in the dark sky. A simple textured frame of curved lines and dots frames the image.

An illustration of a young woman with pale skin and dark, wavy hair, wearing a black-and-gray dress with white lace accents. She’s holding up a candle and peering fearfully ahead while she descends a shadowed staircase. Eerie green light swirls around her.

An illustration of a young witch with thick purple hair tied off in two fluffy pigtails, smiling as she braces her elbows on a grinning glowing Jack o’lantern. She’s wearing a black dress with short puffy sleeves and a large black witch’s hat, with skull earrings. Some cartoonish-looking bone is visible on her left arm and the left side of her face.

Quick PSA for anyone who needs it: Zuko is not a “bad boy,” he’s an abuse victim, and people don’t like Zutara because they think he’s some kind of edgy asshole. Zutara is a normal, healthy relationship (unlike the misogynistic dumpster fire that is Reylo, for example) #zutara #katara

Time to recycle some Zutara content to scare away people afraid of perfectly benign content. #atla #katara #zuko #zutara

A two-paneled image. The top panel depicts hands holding a bottle labeled “hard to swallow pills.” The bottom panel shows several of the pills, labeled “it’s okay for other people to like Katara x Zuko.”

Image of a disturbed- and confused-looking little girl. Test atop reads “The writers of ATLA watching the fandom implode over hatred for Katara/Katara x Zuko, even though they were actually considering putting the two together and only didn’t because they thought Zuko & Mai made a nice pair.”

Is she a vampire bride? Or a vampire? Perhaps a ghost? Or just a normal person who wanted to put on an antique wedding gown and do a photo shoot at the local haunted mansion? 👻 #artistsofbluesky #vampire #bride #ghost #halloweenart

A digital illustration of a woman with light skin and long black hair, wearing a white and pastel pink wedding dress with puffy sleeves and lace gloves. She's sitting at a desk with a bouquet of pink roses next to her. There's a dark doorway in the background. A chair covered in a white cloth is pushed up against a striped wall, and a spiderweb hangs in the corner of the ceiling. The room is dark; two tall, narrow arched windows cast glowing light across the woman's face.

Hot take, but if your characters don’t feel like they have chemistry unless their relationship is full of tension, drama, & varying degrees of toxicity, then they don’t actually have any chemistry #writer #writing #author #book #romance

Love all of this!! I credit the ATLA writers for trying this with Katara, even though they dropped the ball partway through the series. They just didn’t have the perspective necessary to follow through. I wish more actual eldest daughters got more of a voice in storytelling.

I bitch a lot about dark romance and Reylo and shit but I actually do LOVE enemies-to-lovers, when it’s done right. It’s not about randomly falling for an asshole. It’s about forging an unexpected bond with someone who seems totally unlike you, but you actually have more than you think in common…

The worst thing TLJ did was sugarcoat Kylo Ren’s character. In TFA he was a brutal warrior who killed and tortured without remorse. He was radicalized into violent extremism, a choice he solidified by killing his father. That was all hand-waved away for some stupid romance that made no sense.

A witch for spooky season 🧹I've been mentally in the crisp fall realness of October since September started, even if it's been 85 degrees out #artistsofbluesky #witch #spookyseason #october #illustration

A woman with green skin and long flowing blue hair, wearing a large dark purple witch hat and a purple off-the-shoulder dress decorated with purple flowers and blue jewels. She's holding up her right hand to point at a glowing green moon floating in the air. The background is dark blue with the subtle shadowed silhouettes of trees.

Another sky-inspired piece, this time I was drawing on the colors of the sunrise and sunset ☀️ #artistsofbluesky #illustration #sunrise #sunset #art

An illustration of a woman with pink-orange skin, wearing a blue sky dress scattered with stars. She's floating in midair while waves of purple, pink, and blue hair spread around her. Her left arm is tucked behind her back, while she lifts her right hand palm-up underneath a glowing sun. Subtle stars glow behind her and around the edges of the picture.

Another DTIYS challennnge This one took me a while, but I finally got it done! I'm pretty happy with how it came out #illustration #artistsofbluesky #drawingchallenge #DTIYS #drawing

A digital illustration of a young woman with brown skin and voluminous curly dark hair, wearing a cream-colored Ancient Greek style dress with a gold belt, gold flower-shaped shoulder clips, and a crown of gold leaves. Larger gold leaves sprout behind her arms and shoulders. A gold sash drapes over her arms and flares out in front of her. The background is a dark moody ombre of dark bluish-purple at the top and deep magenta-red at the bottom, scattered with faint gold stars. Gold sparkles sweep along the woman's gold sash and glitter around the leaves in her hair.

Another drawing challenge! I tried to blend the pencil sketch with digital painting and I think it turned out pretty cool! #dtiys #artistsofbluesky #jellyfish #drawingchallenge #illustration

A combination digital/pencil illustration of a woman with light skin and long billowing hair in shades of dark and light blue, woven with strands of orange beads and wispy blue braids. She's wearing a form-fitting purple dress and standing with her back to the viewer, with her head turned to partially face forward. Glowing teal-blue jellyfish float in the dark water around her, scattered with glowing sparkles and bubbles.

An illustration of a young woman with brown skin and short curly black hair. She's wearing a colorful plaid jacket over a striped shirt and blue jeans decorated with heart patches. She has red hoop earrings and colorful chunky sneakers with yellow soles. She's sitting on the ground with her left leg bent up and her right lying flat. One arm is draped on her knee and the other is braced on the ground. The background is a subtle pattern of yellow and green plaid; neon stars and lightning bolts are scribbled around the woman.

A digital illustration of a young woman with light skin and short hair colored in an ombre of blue, purple, green, and yellow. She's wearing purple combat boots, dark purple flare pants with yellow stripes down the sides, and a purple off-the-shoulder top with short flared sleeves, each adorned with a large purple bow. She's holding up a glowing yellow star in her left hand; her right hand is braced on her hip. Other yellow stars float around her hand, trailing down toward her feet. Mermay day 18, Abracadabra ✨ inspired by tarot/playing cards & the fabulous music video #artistsofbluesky #mermay #mermay2025 #abracadabra #illustration

A digital illustration of two mermaids, one upside-down and one right-side up, facing each other in an arrangement resembling a playing card. The mermaid on the left, who is upside down, has a tail of ruffled red layers and a red halter top. She has light skin and silver hair and she's wearing a crown of dark red spikes. The mermaid on the right, who is right-side-up, has a shining iridescent white/pink tail with a simple white top. She has brown skin and flowing dark hair. The letter "A" appears in fancy serif font in the bottom left and upper right corners, representing the prompt, Abracadabra.
