When I went to OS NYC for a commentary gig, this was my dinner stop on the first night. Had an amazing beef soup with duck egg rolls. The place was packed + everyone seemed incredibly busy, but it was very much worth it. Highly recommended if you're willing to (or have time to) wait a bit.

I'd love to be able to contribute via Kingdom Hearts 2 or Birth By Sleep for this project! I think it'd also be interesting to cover KH2 especially from the perspective of OG KH2 vs. Final Mix KH2 with regards to the memories of one's childhood with the more readily accessible FM version now.

Kinda makes me sad Sonic Racing Crossworlds didn't sell better because I've genuinely loved that game when I play it. Galactic Racer looks amazing as well. I'll have to consider that one, especially for the Burnout itch.

Great/phenomenal player that he was, yeah there are stories upon stories about how awful he was to his teammates, what he'd say/do to them, his berating of them, etc. Dude was actually toxic, but it gets overlooked because of his accomplishments.

I've seen several people play the "Restorative Justice" angle, and it's so strange to try and play that angle when there is nothing "restorative" for his victim, and he himself never had any sort of "justice" visited upon him in the first place. The rush to redeem him has been frightening to see.

The Jacob Geller stuff has been a wild litmus test that a lot of people seem to be failing. He did the act, admitted to it, and got off with a slap on the wrist. What is happening now is simply what should have happened in the first place had it not been hidden/overlooked before.

For what it's worth, you've already done that IMO. Never let the inspiration lock you down with a forced ceiling, especially with a circumstance like this.

The Ospreay/Ricochet match being a Greatest Hits of Pac's arsenal + a showcase of his influence punctuated by Ospreay's use of the Black Arrow... What a perfect tribute match. #AEWDynamite

Was always a favorite from that very first NXT show where I was left mystified by the Red Arrow. Absolutely heartbreaking and shocking to hear of his loss, and I wish his family and the AEW Locker Room well through this trying time. RIP Pac. 🖤Forever My Bastard.

In a lot of ways, he was a formative building block and a core memory for a lot of fans (including myself) and wrestlers today. Highly decorated (especially in Dragon Gate), he was truly one of the greatest British wrestlers to have made their way around the world.

From the Man That Gravity Forgot to The Bastard, Pac's intense aura and his in-ring style came together masterfully. Refinding himself in Dragon Gate after his time in WWE and then, bringing that to AEW was a revelation and made him such an incredible part of the company.

This was the man who was responsible for locking me into NXT back in 2014. Made me believe in 205 Live when he was the King of the Cruiserweights. Always captivated me when he stepped between those ropes with his surly attitude that clashed with his athleticism. (1/4)

It was basically his final test to see if Ospreay was the man he wanted him to be, yeah. He hit him with every single thing that brought him to the dance, Ospreay survived, and piled on the offense. Mox got what he wanted in the end, so he could go out happy... but the other Riders, though...

This was my view in Brooklyn here. Couldn't get outside because a family + their dog were coming in after some heavy grocery/supply shopping, so I took the shot from inside through our window.

To add a bit, he feels like an eye-opener for a lot of people with regards to politicians. So much made about the lip-service of how much they say they'll do with no action or claim they suddenly "can't", but Mamdani has just gotten right to it. It feels good. I've been really happy with it.

I live in Brooklyn and voted for Mamdani. Not perfect with regards to NYU Langone, and I myself am not entirely sure what would be in his power to do there. That big asterisk aside, he's so refreshing. NYC vibes have been pretty great because it feels just as you said. Things get done, etc.

You know what? I'll take it. Gimme something "So Bad It's Good" to at least get a few laughs from along the way. If I get a line as quotable as "BUT... we can all go home" or "Quick! Change the channel!", I consider it a win.

So long as the 2026 movie leans in on being goofy/campy a bit (which it looks like they're doing for sure + some casting is A+ solid), I think it has a really good shot of at least being better than the Legend of Chun-Li movie. That movie's biggest sin was how boring and "ordinary" it was.

Lawrence M. (WingedRegent) @wingedregent.bsky.social · 23/09/2026
LOL It's all good. That one was extremely forgettable save for "Charlie Nash! Interpol!" and the milk quote from earlier. I wish I could erase it from my own memory I admit.

The one in the picture was the one made in 2009 with Kristin Kreuk as Chun-Li and Taboo from Black Eyed Peas as Vega. Whole movie played as a prequel to the SF series and focused on Chun-Li with Gen as her mentor. Was an absurdly boring movie IMO. Did like Bison/Balrog casting, though.

It's natural to feel that way I think. The main solace is that it's work that can help those who take the spotlight after you, so while others get to enjoy it, you were the one who opened that door for them. It's work that shouldn't go unnoticed as a whole.

Lawrence M. (WingedRegent) @wingedregent.bsky.social · 21/09/2026

Because when people think "genocide", the common interpretation is of direct violence and evisceration, not gradual erosion of rights and capability of sustained existence. I don't believe people understand that it takes many forms (sometimes several at once) and isn't just one bomb or massacre.
010
Lawrence M. (WingedRegent) @wingedregent.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
Agreed. Doesn't get enough credit for advancing those particular gameplay systems IMO either. People talk about the SM2 game and then go "Nope that was the last great SM game until 2018" and completely skip or gloss over Ultimate Spider-Man a lot of the time.
010
Lawrence M. (WingedRegent) @wingedregent.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
I *almost* got the SM3 game as a kid, but something put me off from it at the time. I couldn't recall what it was, but it just didn't "grab" me. Then I saw it as an adult and went "Oh ew that's why". LOL SM2 (and the Ultimate SM game that came after) blew my mind back then. Loved them both.

100%. I loved the old X-Men Legends games for that. I actually have a preference for them over MUA to some degree (albeit I do like both) because of the team dynamic of playing with the X-Men together. A lot of the characters complement each other really well by design. Easy fit for team games.

Escape from Butcher Bay was such a shockingly good game at the time, yeah. I'll also hold Spider-Man 2, but that's mostly because my hot-take is that I was never the biggest overall fan of the SM2 movie while I adored the game itself.
110
Lawrence M. (WingedRegent) @wingedregent.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
That might be why I liked the old X-Men Origins game. While it did get repetitive, the game itself didn't overstay its welcome much at all, so it didn't get *too* bad as to be unbearable. I feel like most singular X-Men would avoid that problem too because there's so much a lot of them could do.

Agreed + the boss fights (I think aside from Gambit?) were pretty uninspired all the way through as I remember, especially the finale. Still, like you said, decent movie tie-in. Besides, how many movie tie-ins can you say are better than the movies they were based off of?

Lawrence M. (WingedRegent) @wingedregent.bsky.social · 18/09/2026
To your point, the X-Men Origins movie tie-in game (PS3/360/PC Version specifically), IMO, nailed the mark on that. It's a very linear God of War-styled romp that does particularly well in nailing the feeling of the character in a combat + gameplay sense and stayed focused on just that.

Reminder that Physint was being developed with the full backing of Sony's resources, including Columbia Pictures, at their disposal to suddenly have the whole funding swiped + project threatened with cancellation. Whole situation sucks, even the solution that allows the studio/game to still live.

1. Take some time away from the thing you're trying to write. Get your brain off of it to try and get a full refresh when you come back to it. 2. Music helps me a lot with this. Some time to just listen to something. 3. Sometimes, a change in sleep schedule can hit the reset button for ya.
