Etholwyd y Llywodraeth hon ar addewid i roi cymunedau a buddiannau Cymru yn gyntaf. Ond nid yw siarad am yr amgylchedd yn ddigon. Rhaid iddyn nhw flaenoriaethu gweithredu ar wydnwch hinsawdd ac adferiad natur, troi eu cefn ar ddiwydiannau llygredig.

Y cwestiwn i ni heddiw yw; nid a oes gan natur rôl i'w chwarae, ond sut rydym yn symud ymhellach ac yn gyflymach i wneud adferiad natur yn rhan o'r ateb i rai o heriau economaidd a chymdeithasol mwyaf Cymru.

Gall natur gyfyngu ar effeithiau newid hinsawdd a diogelu cymunedau rhag llifogydd a gwres eithafol. Mae helpu adferiad natur yn un o'r ffyrdd gorau o wneud Cymru'n fwy gwydn i'r eithafion hinsawdd rydym yn profi - i amddiffyn pobl a'r byd naturiol yr ydym i gyd yn dibynnu arno.

Er bod yr atebion yna, dydyn ni ddim wedi gweld y brys a'r manylder sydd eu hangen i symud ymlaen ar gyflymder. Mae tystiolaeth yn dangos bod atebion sy'n seiliedig ar natur ymhlith y ffyrdd mwyaf effeithiol o fynd i'r afael â'r argyfwng hinsawdd.

This Welsh Government was elected on a promise to put the communities and interests of Wales first. But talking about the environment is not enough, it must prioritise action on climate resilience, nature recovery, and turn its back on polluting industries.

WWF Cymru @wwfcymru.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
The question for us today is not whether nature has a role to play, but how we move further and faster in making nature recovery part of the solution to some of Wales' biggest economic and social challenges.
100
WWF Cymru @wwfcymru.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Nature can limit the impacts of climate change and safeguard communities from flooding and extreme heat. Helping nature's recovery is one of the best ways to make Wales more resilient to the climate extremes we’re experiencing - to protect people and the natural world that we all depend on.

WWF Cymru @wwfcymru.bsky.social · 27/08/2026
Despite knowing the solutions, we have not seen the sense of urgency and detail required to move forward at pace. Evidence shows that solutions based in nature are some of the most effective ways to tackle the climate crisis.

This year’s extreme weather events in the form of flood, drought and wildfire, are a stark reminder of how immediate action on climate must be the focus to safeguard communities, livelihoods and nature.

100 days of heatwaves, droughts, wildfires + the new #PlaidCymru Government in Wales. We welcome efforts by the new Welsh Government to sharpen Wales' approaches to the food, climate and biodiversity challenges we face. But the lack of detail and urgency in its first 100 days concerns us. 👇
